Ds Classroom Expectations

*The banners above represent examples of possible pillars of the classroom. Students will be responsible
to create the classroom banners that we will refer to throughout the year. The banners represent a social
contract that we have all entered into and agreed upon. Students and the teacher will be accountable to
hold themselves and their peers to these pillars.*

those seats for the rest of the quarter unless they need to
be moved for behavioral purposes.
Students will come see Ms. D if they need to discuss any
limitations, questions, or concerns with their classroom
expectations.

Procedural Expectations *Procedures must be practiced in routine so that they may

eventually happen without the prompting of the teacher. In the
beginning of the first quarter (the first month, primarily), Ms. D
will set clear expectations for the procedures of the classroom. As
the year goes on, depending on student behavior, Ms. will loosen
or tighten the hold on the class regarding the prompting
required.*

Remediation/Motivators

All reflections will include the infraction committed and why the
infraction relates to our classroom banners. Students can choose
to give their reflection orally to Ms. D or give Ms. D a write-up
of their reflection.

When students display good work ethic and behavior, I

will place phone calls home to let their parents know as
well as pull them aside to let them know they are doing
well.

Preventative Elements Teacher will refer to agreed upon class pillars that will be
placed on the walls throughout the classroom when
behavior is committed that relates to those pillars.
Students will be aware of the classroom rules and
procedures because they would of had a hand in creating
them as well as through the syllabus and the classroom
pillars.
When students display good work ethic and behavior,
Ms. D will place phone calls home to let their parents
know as well as pull them aside to let them know they
are doing well.
Students will recognize when Ms. D rubs the collar of
her shirt, and looks at them, that they need to improve
their behavior immediately (Level 1).
Students will be moved to the back table of the
classroom, away from their groups until their behavior
improves and can work with others again (Level 2).
Ms. Ds Classroom Expectations

Students will schedule a teacher-student conference with

Ms. D during their lunch, advisory, or before/after school
(Level 3).
Students will be sent home with a letter for their parents
(Ms. D will also email the students parents the same
letter) asking for a student, teacher, and parent
conference to discuss how we can all make the student
more successful in the class (Level 4).

Extreme Concerns (Level 5) In extreme cases, Ms. D will call on the other teachers of
the student(s) and the students parents to gain their
insight on what the student responds well to.
Ms. D will also enlist the help of a counselor(s) if
necessary to further her understanding on how to help the
student be successful.
If all else fails, Ms. D will get the parents or guardians of
the student(s) involved as well as the administration. This
will only happen if remediation and preventative
elements have failed.
Ms. D will only act to have a student placed in another
class if that student and Ms. D agree that the student
would be more successful in another classroom.

Establishment of Plan The first month of school will consist of establishing the
classroom plan with the students help and participation.
There will be games, pop quizzes, and roll calls to ensure
that students know and are refreshed on what is expected
of them.
If students are unclear on any of the plans parts, they will
have the first month to clarify their confusions and
objections. After that, they will have agreed to enter into
this social contract with Ms. D and the rest of their
classmates.
Students will follow the plan and the classroom flow for
the rest of the year with little correction from Ms. D.
