Procedure:

Take a small amount of the given mixture of iron filings and sand in a watch

_____________________________________________________________________________
glass/china dish. Wrap the bar magnet in a piece of plastic sheet. Spread the

_____________________________________________________________________________
mixture on the watch glass and move the wrapped magnet over the mixture
_____________________________________________________________________________
until the bar magnet is covered with iron filings. Remove the iron filings from
_____________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
the magnet (by lowering down the plastic cover from the magnet) and collect
_____________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
them on the other watch glass/china dish. Repeat this procedure till all the

iron filings are removed from the mixture.
