1. Employees
The manufacturing company is now operating under a third-party
arrangement with respect to its workers. It outsources its workers through an
agency. The agency is the one which provides some of the workers benefits and
welfare (e.g. insurance) and the one responsible to settle ethical issues and
dilemmas involving workers under its custody.
The company compensates its workers based on what the law mandates.
There are two groups of workers in the facility, the quota-based workers and the
regular-hour workers. The quota-based workers are being paid according to the
output produced by them in reference to the targeted output. If when regular-
workers worked beyond 8 hours, they are given the overtime pay mandated.
Workers are not forced to render overtime work. But before having the job, the
applicants are informed about the working hours implemented by the facility. At
times, the facility operates in two shifts. At times, the facility may offer overtime
work as it is required in the operations. Upon informing the applicants, they have
the right to decide whether they would accept the job or not.
The company has reward programs that are differentiated across business
and among employees according to their contributions or level of performance,
with a significant share given to high performers. The company also provides
seminars and training to its regular workers to enhance their technical knowledge
and expertise about their work. It has an employee training program policy.
Employees may avail of both in-house training programs and external programs
to build competencies in order to ensure maximum efficiency in the performance
of functions, duties and responsibilities and to support basic needs.

There was an instance where one of the employees fainted because its
very hot inside the working station meaning there is no proper ventilation.
