It is also recommended that a copy of the DCX/DCX-4S port mapping layout be fixed to the
director racks in a clear plastic wallet. This will help the storage teams identify correct ports,
avoid confusion and incorrect port disconnects. The mappings can be found in the
DCX/DCX-4S hardware specifications PDF, but is also included below.
Table 37 and Table 38 show the physical versus logical port mapping. The port numbering
on the left (white area) represents the physical port numbering as it is found on each blabe.
This numbering scheme is also used for the Fabric OS commands related to the ports on the
switch.
On the right side of the tables the translation to area number is shown. The area numbers
are used in the errorlog entries.
i.e. : Port # 7 = Slot 1/Port 7, Port # 166 = Slot 3/Port 22, Port # 250 = Slot 10/Port 26
Port # 295 = Slot 3/Port 39, Port # 381 = Slot 10/Port 45
