An adjective modifies and describes a noun making your writing and speaking much more specific Adjectives
describe nouns by giving some information about an objects size, shape, age, color, origin or material.
Position of Adjectives

Appearance adjectives: Adorable, beautiful, clean, elegant, Fancy, fat, glamorous, handsome, old-
fashioned, sparkling, ugly, etc
Condition adjectives: Alive, better, careful, clever, famous, important, inexpensive, powerful, rich, shy,
wrong, etc
Personality adjectives Positive: agreeable, brave, calm, gentle, happy, kind, lively, nice, proud, thankful,
victorious, etc
Personality adjectives Negative: angry, embarrassed, fierce, itchy, jealous, lazy, mysterious, nervous,
panicky, repulsive, scary, worried, etc.
Shape adjectives: crooked, curved, deep, high, low, narrow, round, skinny, square, straight, wide, etc..
Size adjectives: big, colossal, fat, gigantic, great, huge, immense, large, little, miniature, short, small, tall,

Comparatives and Superlatives Rules
Double the
Only one syllable, with one vowel
consonant, and add -
and one consonant at the end. Double the consonant, and add -est:

Examples: hottest, biggest, fattest, saddest
hotter, bigger, fatter,
hot, big, fat, sad
sadder
Change y to i, then
Two syllables, ending in Y.
add -er: Change y to i, then add -est:
Examples:
happier, sillier, happiest, silliest, loneliest, jolliest
