ANIMALS IN DANGER

1. Zebra Grevy

In Africa there are several species of zebras (plain, mountain), including


the Grevy zebra. Zebra mountain is listed as vulnerable, but also include
Grevy zebra only 2,500 copies in the wild, which makes it number
endangered.
2. Bornean peacock and peacock Pheasant

How we see everywhere, we did not think that peacocks can be very
threatening, but if these two subspecies problem is serious, unfortunately:
habitat loss has led to a rapid decline in population. In the world there are
now only more than 1,700 and maximum 1,500 Bornean peacock
peacocks Hainan.
3. Giraffe Rothschild3. Rothschild giraffe
Part of the landscape African giraffes are not generally a problem for those
who fight to preserve the environment, but if subspecies (considered by
some to separate species) giraffe Rothschild (known as giraffe Baringo or
Uganda) situation is not pink: in wild specimens of the species live only in
protected areas in Kenya and Uganda and around 450 copies one can
encounter in zoos in the world.

4. Colibri (Oaxaca, Mangrove and Chestnut-billed)


Several species of humming birds are on the IUCN list in the "endangered"
as Oaxaca (above) - maximum 1,700 surviving copies in the world,
Mangrove (species discovered only in 2005 in Costa Rica) or Chestnut-
billed, of which more than 1,700 copies still live in the wild.
5. Przewalski horses
A unique species of genetically (though related to domestic horses whom
we know), these wild horses are in great danger of extinction. Currently,
about 50 mature individuals living in the wild (after the species was
reintroduced in its natural habitat in the late 90) and dozens of copies are
in zoos or breeding programs.

6. Howler Monkey
Species common to South and Central America, suffered a sharp decline
due to habitat loss and capture by aggressive people. If subspecies of
Guatemala, it is estimated a decline of 60% over the next 30 years, and
the subspecies "red hands" there are still around 2,500 copies in the wild.
7. Fruit Bats

Golden-capped, Salim Ali, Sao Tome and Small-toothed are only four
species of endangered fruit bats, which are known or hear too little. For
the first species, an estimated 10,000 live wild specimens; in the second
case, we are talking about up to 350; in the third, the exact number is not
known, but it is known that there are few examples in the world and in
the case of the fourth species listed, only seven individuals have been
identified.

8. San Joaquin antelope ground squirrel

Although rodents are generally adaptable to change because of intensive


agriculture and pesticide use, squirrel San Joaquin arrived in danger: it is
estimated that there are over 400,000 copies in the wild, but the number
is decreasing rapidly.
