Content Management System (CMS) Overview continued
The Content Management System provides the means to create a customized look and
feel to ServiceNow while incorporating external resources. The CMS has been used by
many customers to simply make their end users interface match their intranet or
website and to build out an entire website that allows one to leverage the capabilities
of the ServiceNow platform.
Whether it be ordering hardware or software, requesting services or just searching for
answers, the Content Management System can be designed to simplify a users
interaction with support and help in the consumerization of IT.

Pages

A site would not be much without Pages

Pages present information
Pages provide a suffix as well which
allows them to be accessed directly
Each page has a layout and a theme to
describe how the page looks, and the
layout uses iFrames to define where
information appears on the page

Content Blocks

Content Blocks are the building blocks

of the site. This is the actual content
that is displayed on the page. There are
many different types of Content Blocks,
but for the purpose of this lab, we will
focus on the most common: headers,
footers, menus, lists and iFrames.

Content Blocks Menu

Content Blocks Menu is key to any

CMS site. Navigation through a site is
typically performed through menus.
The CMS provides many different
menu types. Select what best fits the

Layouts

Layouts define the overall structure of

the page by arranging where on the
page dropzones appear.
Dropzones are where Content Blocks
(which make up the content of the page)
can be added.
Most Content Blocks match the width of
the dropzone, so the dropzone controls
both the location and sizing of the
Content Block.
