Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is a copy of our back to school preservice agenda for the 2017-2018 school
year. This artifact shows how I am contributing to a school culture that focuses on
improved student learning. There were many topics on this day that were completely
focused around student learning including, math workshops, reading support
conversations, PLC structure, and IEP accommodations. All of these different topics
were covered in order to enhance student performance. We focused a lot of how our
SPED and general education teachers need to be having conversations weekly about
the students we share in order to make sure we are doing what is best for those
students. This directly aligns with improved student learning because when all teachers
are on the same page we know how to meet the needs of our students to the best of our
abilities.

Reflection on the artifact:

I think it is crucial to a school climate to have these types of meetings and collaborate
as an entire staff to do what is best for our students. I enjoy talking as a whole building
and hearing the thoughts and ideas that come from the different departments of
teachers. I also learn a lot from the meetings that we are continually having with our
SPED and reading support teachers and hearing how the students in my class are
doing when they are with them, and sharing how the student is also doing in the general
education classroom.
