MOUNTAIN DEW DEW CHALLENGE 2017 (Event)

Terms & Conditions may be changed at the sole discretion of ETIKA SDN BHD (17296-V)
and ETIKA PTE LTD (201608173M), henceforth referred to as the Organizer, and shall be
final. Any debate or disagreements from the participants may result in a disqualification. No
further correspondence from the Organizer is required.
The Event will be held in both countries i.e. Malaysia and Singapore.
1. General

1.1. Administration
1.1.1. Staffs or persons authorized by the Organizer will be henceforth referred to as
Admin.
1.1.2. Official announcements as well as statements of Admin at any place (e.g.
competition website, support ticket reply, Skype, Steam) can ignore or overrule
the following rules in order to make the competition as fair as possible. In case
of contradicting declarations, the most recent announcement or Admin statement
shall prevail.

1.2. Participants & Teams


1.2.1. Event which will be held in Malaysia
Open to ALL Malaysian citizens and those residing in Malaysia ONLY.
1.2.2. Event which will be held in Singapore
Open to ALL Singaporean citizens and those residing in Singapore ONLY.

1.2.3. Eligible participants for this Event will be required to provide a valid
identification card. The Organizer reserves the right to request for
identification document as proof and for purposes of verifying the identity of
the eligible participants.
1.2.4. Eligible participants must be 13 years or older. Eligible participants under the
age of 18 must complete a parental consent form and to be handed to an
Admin at the relevant qualifier.
1.2.5. Teams consist of:
1.2.5.1. Event held in Malaysia
5 members with a minimum quorum of 3 Malaysian citizens.
1.2.5.2. Event held in Singapore
5 members with a minimum quorum of 3 Singaporean citizens.
1.2.6. Employees of the Organizer, participating sponsors and their advertising
agencies and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not
eligible to participate and win.
1.2.7. Participants must be of sound physical condition, free of any serious medical
conditions. If an individual is allowed to participate, it is his/her responsibility
to inform the Organizers of a possible risk factors. Participation is at the
participants own risk, the Organizer will not be responsible for any injury.
1.2.8. Registration is to be completed through the microsite at
www.mountaindewdota2.com
1.2.9. Registration commences at 23 October 2017 for the following regions:
Penang (Lanscape, Jelutong, Event Date: 28th & 29th October 2017).
Kuantan (Wildfire, Event Date: 4th & 5th November 2017).
Kuala Lumpur (TBUN Wangsa Maju, Event Date: 11th & 12th November
2017).
Singapore Qualifier 1 (Colosseum (Pasir Ris), Event Date: 11th & 12th
November 2017).
Johor Bahru (818 Cyber Caf Taman Universiti, Event Date: 18th & 19th
November 2017).
Singapore Qualifier 2 (Alienware Arena, Event Date: 18th & 19th November
2017).
Selangor (INC SS2, Event Date: 25th & 26th November 2017).

1.2.10. All roster changes are permitted up till 2 days before event date.
Penang (Lanscape, Jelutong, Closing Date: 26th October 2017).
Kuantan (Wildfire, Closing Date: 2nd November 2017).
Kuala Lumpur (TBUN Wangsa Maju, Closing Date: 9th November 2017).

Johor Bahru (818 Cyber Caf Taman Universiti, Closing Date: 16th
November 2017).
Singapore Qualifier 2 (Alienware Arena (Outram), Closing Date: 16th
November 2017).
Selangor (INC SS2, Closing Date: 23rd November 2017).

1.2.11. The Organizer reserves the right to reject any application for participation at
the sole discretion of the Organizer if the participant is not deemed fit.
1.2.12. Entries for participation is considered void should there be incomplete details
during registration.

1.3. Commitments
1.3.1. By attending the competition participants acknowledge without limitation to
comply with the rules and regulations, official announcement, and with the
statements and decisions made by the Organizer.
1.3.2. Every participant acknowledges the right for the Organizer to modify the rules
and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice.
1.3.3. Every participant has to show the needed respect towards the Organizer,
Admin and other participants. Insults and unfair or disrespectful behavior
towards anyone will not be tolerated and will be punished.
1.3.4. Participants shall not hold the Organizer responsible for any form of damages,
losses, penalties and/or costs in the event of occurrence of any form of
accidents, injuries, deaths, loss of any assets and/or loss of any other items as a
result of participation in the Event. Every participant must sign an indemnity
form before their respective qualifier.
1.3.5. Undertakes and agree with the Organizer and/or the Event Administrator that
the Participant and/or his/her team members will not issue any form of
statement (written or otherwise) in any form of media of communication
(which includes but not limited to publication in printed media, blogs, Twitter,
Facebook and/or any other multimedia or internet communications) with the
intent of tarnishing the image of the Organizer, sponsors or the conduct of the
event failing which the Organizer shall have its absolute discretion to forfeit
any form of prize which the Participant and/or his/her team is entitled to
1.3.6. Every team accepts the official schedule of the competition and declares its
ability to be available during the duration of the tournament.
1.3.7. Every team and participant has to try to win every game at every stage of the
competition. Purposeful losing for any reason is strictly forbidden, any
instances of match fixing will be met with immediate disqualification and
possible criminal action at the sole discretion of the Organizer.
1.3.8. Teams that qualify for the Grand Finale will be obligated to compete in the
event for the dates (Singapore Group Stage: 25th November 2017, Malaysia
Group Stage: 8th December 2017, Finale in Malaysia: 9th 10th December
2017)
1.3.9. The Group Stage for Singapore will consist of 2 groups of 6 teams each. Top 2
team of each group will play in the Grand Finale.
1.3.10. The Group Stage for Malaysia will consist of 4 groups of 6 teams each. Top 1
team of each group will play in the Grand Finale.
1.3.11. Grand finale will consist of 8 teams in total (4 from Malaysia, and 4 from
Singapore). The Format is a Single Elimination BO3 with the Championship
Match played in a BO5.

1.4 Communication
1.4.1 The primary communication platform is through the microsite at
www.mountaindewdota2.com
1.4.2 At least one member of each team has to be available as much as possible, and
check their email regularly for updates and information about the tournament
until the team gets eliminated from the competition. Failure to do so, the
organizer will not be held responsible or liable over any form of
miscommunication.
1.4.3 If a team is not contactable for an extended period of time (at least 24 hours)
the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify the team

2. Teams & Players

2.1 Team Size


A Team has to consist of five members. Those persons will be called "team
members" or "members" of the team. Each team will have an appointed Captain
and a Vice-Caption to act on his behalf during Captains absence.

2.2 Line-up Information


2.2.1 All teams have to provide the Admin the following information upon request:
Full names of all members
IC/Passport numbers of all members
Email addresses of all members
Primary nicknames of all members
Nationality of all members
Identity the Captain and Vice-Captain of each team
2.2.2 The team's names, player nick names and logos cannot be racist or offensive
and will be pre-approved by the Organizer before being put to use.
2.2.3 The team line up for the Grand Finale must be consistent with the line-up that
played in the qualifiers. Any changes are subject to the Organizers approval
and must be under exceptional circumstances. In the event that the Organizers
refuse for any change, the team shall be disqualified to participate in the Grand
Finale
2.2.4 Player in game names must contain clan tag and be the same for the entire
tournament
2.2.5 The submitting of false information will result in immediate disqualification

2.3 Banned players


2.3.1 Valve banned teams
2.3.2 A blanket ruling that players who have played in tournaments with prize pool
of RM50,000 or more (Qualified for main bracket).

2.3.5 Definition of a professional team, and its players, depicts that the team and/or
player is part of an active roster in the past 2 years from date of competition.
2.3.6 All players that have made it to the top 2 in Dew Challenge 2015 and top 8
Dew Challenge 2016, are not allowed to participate in this tournament.
2.3.7 If there are players and teams whose arent listed but fits the criteria of banned
players stated, the organizer has the right to ban and disqualified the player
from participating in this tournament.

3. Schedule

3.1 Match times


3.1.1 The official schedule of the competition will be announced 7 days prior to
event
3.1.2 Each qualifier will have the following schedule depending on the number of
players:

3.1.3 If a delayed end of a previous match prohibits a match to start on schedule


(due to either one of the involved teams still playing), the match times may be
delayed

3.2 Rescheduling
3.2.1 The change of a match time is only possible under exceptional circumstances,
at the sole discretion of the Organizer and cannot be disputed. Any debate or
arguments will result in immediate disqualification

3.3 Punctuality
3.3.1 Registration: Teams must check in 60 minutes prior to their match time on
event days for registration. The team must be present for ID verification to
advance into Challenge.
3.3.2 Matches: Teams must arrive 45 minutes prior to their scheduled match start,
any teams not present 15 minutes after the scheduled start time will be
disqualified.
4. Hosting & Settings

4.1 Lobby Hosting


4.1.1 Games will be hosted by tournament Admin.
4.1.2 Participants are not allowed to pass the lobby password on to anyone but the
other members of his team.
4.1.3 Any non-authorized persons present in the game will void the result of the
game and cause a remake of said game
4.1.4 Admin has the right to check participants computers at any point in time for
irregularities or errors

4.2 Spectators
4.2.1 Only Admin and official broadcasters, anyone authorized by an Admin, and
the ten players are allowed to be inside the game.

4.3 Server Location


4.3.1 The server location will be Singapore/SE Asia

4.4 Sides & Drafting Order


4.4.1 Matches played in the group stage are best of 1, the Grand Finale will be best
of 3 and all other matches played will be best of 3 with the Grand Final
championship game being a best of 5.
4.4.2 All matches played will have a coin toss preceding it.
4.4.3 In Best of 1 matches the winner of the coin toss will decide either the side or
pick order, the loser will get the remaining option.
4.4.4 In Best of 3 matches the following will apply for each game:
Game 1 The winner of the coin toss will decide either the side or pick
order, the loser will get the remaining option.
Game 2 The reverse side and pick order will apply.
Game 3 Same as Game 1
4.4.5 In Best of 5 matches (if applicable) the following will apply for each game:
Game 1 The winner of the coin toss will decide either the side or pick
order, the loser will get the remaining option.
Game 2, 3 and 4 The reverse side and pick order, then alternate for each
game
Game 5 (if applicable) Same as Game 1

4.5 Game Settings

4.5.1 The following settings will be used for each game lobby:
GAME MODE - Captains Mode, unless stated otherwise by the individual
competition rules
LOBBY PASSWORD - see 4.1
SERVER LOCATION - see 4.3
STARTING TEAM - see 4.4
PENALTY-RADIANT - chosen by the Admin
PENALTY-DIRE - chosen by the Admin
SERIES TYPE - chosen by the Admin

5. During a game

5.1 Picks & Bans


5.1.1 The hero pool always consists of all heroes the game mode allows and might
therefore change several times during the competition. The game must not be
paused during the draft, unless a drafter disconnects.

5.2 Pauses
5.2.1 Each team has the right to pause the game for an acceptable duration, if a
player announces it at least three seconds in advance and calls a coherent
reason (exception: not necessary, if someone disconnects). The game must not
be resumed before both teams agree with it. When the number or the duration
of breaks becomes too high or long, the administration may force the
continuation of the game.

5.3 Disconnects & Reconnects


5.3.1 If a player disconnects, the game is to be paused instantly. Play will resume
once the player reconnects.

5.4 Bugs and Technical faults


5.4.1 If any serious bugs or technical difficulties occur, the Organizer has the right
to decide on the outcome and next path of action for the Event. Knowingly
abusing a bug is strictly forbidden and will result in immediate
disqualification.

5.5 Game Recovery


5.5.1 If a game is unable to continue due to a glitch or crash or other exceptional
circumstances, the game will be continued from a previous save if possible.
After 3 failed attempts the game will be restarted with the same picks, bans
and lane selection.

5.6 Tools/ Hacks


5.6.1 The usage of any Dota-related tool aside from Steam and Dota 2 during a
match is strictly forbidden. Macros that combine more than 2 keystrokes are
not allowed. Any use of such tools will result in immediate disqualification.
5.6.2 Marshalls will check all computers before the start of the game.

5.7 Team Communication


5.7.1 After entering game lobbies all players must turn off Steam chat
5.7.2 Voice communication software will be preinstalled on all computers, players
are required to use the software specified by the Organizer
5.8 Equipment
5.8.1 A default set of peripherals consisting of mouse, keyboard and headset will be
provided for use
5.8.2 Players can use their own peripherals
5.8.3 Players must use either their own headset or the default headset during
gameplay. Up to 3 warnings will be given for non-compliance, followed by a
default loss for the game.

5.9 Ending
5.9.1 A game is finished, when an Ancient Fortress is destroyed, when the majority
of a team leaves on purpose, or when the Organizer decides on it. A game is
not forfeited, when a player types "gg" or "ff". Always wait for the ancient to
be destroyed.

6. Rule Violation & Punishment

6.1 Breaking of the rules or ignoring the order of an Admin may result in a punishment
for a whole team or a specific player. Type and amount is chosen by an Admin.

6.2 Possible Team Punishments


Default Loss for one game
Default Loss for the whole match
Time Penalty for the next draft
Score Reduction (during a group stage)
Temporary or permanent ban from the competition

6.3 Possible Player Punishments


Temporary ban from the competition
Permanent ban from the competition

7. Legal

7.1 Legal proceedings are not permitted.

7.2 The Organizer reserves the right to use names/photographs of participants as


materials for the purposes of advertising, trade and publicity without any prior notice
to the participants. Participants will not be entitled to claim ownership or other forms
of compensation on such uses.

7.3 The participants hereby confirm that all his/her personal information stated in the
contest form is true and complete. The participants hereby irrevocably consent and
authorize Organizer to process any of his/her information and to release the same to
any related existing or future business partners or strategic alliance and/or any other
third party as Organizer may in its absolute discretion deem necessary or expedient
for the purpose of marketing and promotion of products and services. The
Participants hereby confirm that no further permission or consent from him/her is
necessary or required in relation thereto and this shall constitute the consent required
under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 or any other contractual consent for
such disclosures of information.
7.4 The participants hereby confirm that all his/her personal data stated in the contest
form is true and complete and that he/she has read these terms and the Privacy
Policy at http://www.mountaindewmalaysia.com/privacy (Privacy Policy). By
clicking the electronic consent box or submitting any personal data, the participants
irrevocably consent and agree to the processing of his/her personal data in
accordance with these terms and the Privacy Policy. The participants authorize the
Organizer to process any of his/her personal data and information and to disclose the
same to any related existing or future business partners or strategic alliance and/or
any other third party as the Organizer may in its absolute discretion deem necessary
or expedient for the purpose of the Event or marketing and promotion of products
and services. The Participants hereby confirm that no further permission or consent
from him/her is necessary or required in relation thereto and this shall constitute the
consent required under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 or any other
contractual consent for such disclosures of information

8. Miscellaneous

8.1 Winners shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap,
injury, loss, damage, claim or accident [including death] resulting from their
participation in this Challenge, redemption and/or usage of the prizes. The Organizer
shall not be responsible for any liability, mishap, loss, damage, claim or accident in
any manner whatsoever.

8.2 All costs and/or any other costs, fees and/or related expenses that are incurred to
participate in this Event and to redeem the prizes are the sole responsibility of the
winner.

8.3 For Singapore Qualified Team (Top 4) travel expenses limited to:
8.3.1 Flights (To and Back)
8.3.2 Logistics to the Hotel from the Airport
8.3.3 Logistics from the Hotel to the Airport.
8.3.4 Accommodations for the dates of 8th December 2017 11th December 2017.

8.4 Organizer shall not be liable for any loss or damage due to Act of God,
Governmental actions, other force majeure circumstances and shall not be liable to
pay any amount as compensation or otherwise for any such loss.

8.5 The Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant
that is found or suspected of tampering with the Event or the game submission
process, the operation of this Event. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify
any person who it reasonably suspects has violated or infringed any of these general
terms and conditions and the Organizer reserves the right to pursue legal action
against any individual it believes has undertaken fraudulent activities or other
activities harmful to this online Event.

8.6 All disputes relating to this Challenge shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of
Courts at Malaysia only.
