LONDON GIN is not a geographical denomination but a legal production standard.

London gin is produced in a similar way to distilled gin but EU law stipulates that
it must use a higher grade of neutral spirit. It must be distilled to a higher alcoholic
strength prior to dilution and bottling and its flavour must be exclusively imparted
through re-distillation of neutral spirits in the presence of natural botanicals.

The key difference between London gin and distilled gin with regard
to flavour is that once distilled gin has been produced using natural
botanicals it is permitted to add secondary flavouring or colouring
in the form of essences. This is NOT permitted with London gin.
