Community News
Monday Monkeys, by Janine
(The wonderful lady who runs the group)

Monday Monkeys began a few years ago after one mum

noticed that there was very little for parents and their
little ones to do on our rapidly expanding
estate! Monday Monkeys then started, it is there to
provide a safe, stimulating, friendly, welcoming
environment for mum's/dad's/carers and children alike.

It can be quite lonely as a new mum and getting out meeting new people can be a daunting
prospect. I like to think that when you've visited once, someone would make you feel
welcome and youd be keen to come back! I have met some lovely people running this
group and made some great friends. My daughter has also been able to make some lovely
friendships too.

The community centre is a lovely large hall

offering lots of space for the children to move
around freely. I try to offer a range of toys and
activities for the children to explore and enjoy
including sensory play, arts and crafts. We also
have a lovely secure outdoor patio space which is
always well used. We then always finish the session
with Rhyme time.

If you are interested in coming along then please do, we would love to meet you.

*Monday Monkeys at the Old Sarum Community Centre. Term time only, now closed for the
holidays, but we will be back on Monday 4th Sept. 9.30 till 11am. I am always looking for
volunteers to help me set up/pack away/help in the kitchen and just generally welcoming
people in. If you feel you could help in any way then please let me know.*

Due to new commitments next year I won't be able to run the sessions anymore. My last
day will be our Christmas party. If you or if you know of anyone that would enjoy taking over
from me then I would love to chat! It would be a real shame if we had to close.
