BOX AND 3 SIDE CULVERTS

Precast concrete box and 3-sided culverts are incredibly versatile. They can be manufactured
in a wide range of sizes and configurations, and can be used to convey stormwater or wastewater, create
short span-bridges and access ways, or for rainwater retention or detention, to name only a few
applications. In addition, precast concrete 3-sided culverts allow for natural streambeds to remain intact.

Rely on precast concrete culverts for a high degree of quality and uniformity, design flexibility,
superior strength and durability, reduced weather dependency during installation, and reduced impact
to the job site.

HIGHWAY BARRIER

Precast concrete highway barriers are the go-to product for vehicular and construction worker
safety, in addition to building security. Precast concrete barriers have the unique ability to not only
realign stray vehicles but also reduce their speed. Upon impact, precast concrete barriers partially lift
the stray vehicle off the pavement, which decreases the lateral resistance force between tires and
pavement. Precast barriers can be installed in permanent or temporary applications.
ON-SITE WASTEWATER TANKS

Quality precast concrete tanks are designed to be sound, watertight, and withstand loads that
other materials cannot bear. A routinely serviced septic tank or related on-site wastewater system
component will provide many decades of trouble-free service. Whether for residential projects or
commercial construction, precast concrete septic tanks and distribution boxes are the products of choice
for on-site wastewater treatment systems.

RETAINING WALLS

Precast concrete manufacturers produce a wide range of engineered earth retaining systems
designed to provide a straightforward and cost-effective solution for your next project. Issues with wall
height, right-of-way, seismic activity, drainage, quality control and aesthetics can all be overcome with
a precast concrete earth retaining system.

Precast concrete retaining systems include mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) face panels,
large precast modular blocks (PMB), segmental retaining wall (SRW) products, cantilever walls, crib
walls and post-and-panel systems.
SOUND WALLS

Road noise is an issue for communities living along highways, but it doesnt have to be. Precast
concrete sound walls reduce the perceived noise by as much as half, while absorptive treatments have
been found to further reduce noise pollution. With color additives or stains and textured form liners, a
precast wall can blend in with a citys architecture and local topography or stand out by capturing
communitys theme or identity.

STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

When heavy rainfall overwhelms a stormwater system, precast concrete underground

stormwater systems are used to hold the water for delayed release (detention) or for beneficial reuse
(retention). Also, precast concrete structures are critical components for stormwater BMPs used to
improve urban stormwater quality through mechanical or natural processes. Precast concrete withstands
not only the volumes of water flowing inside them, but extreme loading conditions on the outside as
well.
UNDERGROUND UTILITY VAULTS

The underground utility construction industry has come to rely on the proven performance and
versatility of precast concrete utility structures. Standard vault designs are readily available, while
custom vaults can be designed with the assistance of your local precast concrete manufacturer.

Precast concrete underground utility structures are a perfect example of value-added

engineering. Utility equipment and accessory items such as racks, ladders, hatches, frames, covers or
climate control units can all be preinstalled saving a considerable amount of time and money on your
next underground utility project.
ADVANTAGES OF PRECAST CONCRETE

Following are the advantages of precast concrete:

1. The concrete of superior quality is produced as it is possible to have better technical control on
the production of concrete in factory.

2. It is not necessary to provide joints in the precast construction.

3. The labour required in the manufacturing process of the precast units can easily be trained.

4. The moulds employed for preparing the precast units are of steel with exact dimension in all
directions. These moulds are more durable and they can be used several times.

5. The precast articles may be given the desired shape and finish with accuracy.

6. The precast structures can be dismantled, when required and they can then be suitably used
elsewhere.

7. The transport and storage of various components of concrete for cast in situ work are eliminated
when precast members are adopted.

8. The work can be completed in a short time, when precast units are adopted.

9. When precast structures are to be installed, it is evident that the amount of scaffolding and
formwork is considerably reduced.
