Brief summary of what your countrys government has done to deal with the social issue
(based on the MDG selected): (p
olicies in place and progress in dealing with the problem)
The American NGO with field offices in Somalia are helping together for making the country
leave the state of depression in crisis. The government decided to deal with the problems by
investing the food production on the ground in Africa. They spent about US$20,000 to invest
their agriculture. They tried to plant commercial crops like bananas and sugarcane for their
economics. They have improved the overall quality of life for people in Somalia by
successfully implementing infrastructure such as roads and schools. The reason why they
created the school is to increase their people knowledge and decrease problems with
poverty, because lack of knowledge can lead to many things, failure in doing agriculture and
producing food, unemployment, uncured sickness, famine and further leads to death.
Moreover, they tried to plant crops and plants that can resist to drought condition in their
country, like corn, sorghum, beans, rice, vegetables, cotton and sesame, as their food
instead, in order to survive in a food crisis during the drought period.
