Operation in Preparation for the Second Fatherland Liberation War

The South remains on a war footing, and is continuing to refuse to negotiate. At this point, two months
without any word from the South, we have to assume they are preparing for full scale war against the
DPRK. We must start taking small operations with two goals: to force negotiations while also ensuring
we hurt their ability to wage a war.

Order of Battle
- 40 Special Forces Operators from the 1st Reconnaissance General Bureau Battalion
- 5 D-30 122mm Howitzers (w/ crews)
- 1 SA-11 Gadfly (w/ crews)
- 5 ZU-23-2 AAA (w/ crews)

IMPORTANT NOTES:
This operation takes place in about 2-3 square miles. So it is not a big operation.

The following map has needed positions and information:

Operations:

The forty brave Patriots of the 1st Reconnaissance General Bureau Battalion who have been chosen for
this vital mission have been training since childhood to operate in special operation missions behind
enemy lines in the South. Today, they are being given the opportunity to prove their abilities. The
infiltration will take place as detailed below. The unit will begin infiltration at 3:10 AM local time; as it
is known that in the early morning hours is when sentries are less aware/the most tired. The fact that the
Southern Army has been on alert for two full months (maybe longer) without any incident also helps
our special forces operators infiltrate: as they should not be expecting much of anything. This is also a
fairly remote outpost, again helping our mission as it will make getting reinforcements to that position
that much harder.

Sub-Units:
Geulub 1: 20 Special Forces Operators
Geulub 2: 20 Special Forces Operators

Target Alpha (Observation Post):

Target Alpha is an mountain-top observation post that is directly across the border from KPA
Observation Post 67. It looks over a valley and a road in the DPRK used to transfer troops and
munitions. It should be destroyed in order to deny the Souths ability to accurately observe movements
along this area of the front. Geulub 1 will split into two ten man teams and infiltrate across the border
via Infiltration Line 1 and Infiltration Line 2. Their mission is to sneak up on Target Alpha and capture
or kill any South Korean sentries. They will then use C4-style explosives to demolish the observation
post. However, this attack will ensue after Geulub 2 has a chance to carry out its orders, not before
that time. Geulub 2 is to be given 10 minutes after their arrival at the barracks before any attacks are to
occur at the observation post unless it is clear the barracks is aware of the attack; then this attack will
go through. When complete the units will withdraw back across the border via Infiltration Line 2
with any prisoners they take.

Target Beta (Firebase and Barracks):

Target Beta is a barracks and firebase located behind what seems to be an area dug out of the mountain
on the sides facing the DPRK. This is obviously to avoid being shelled by artillery. Geulub 2 will be
infiltrating along Infiltration Line 1 as well, until they reach Infiltration Line 3, and will follow that:
this allows them to stay in the deepest of the darkness of the early morning against mountains and in
ravines. When they arrive they will attempt to infiltrate the barracks silently: killing any sentries with
knives if possible or silenced weaponry. If the firebase has not been alerted by this time they will enter
the barracks and officers quarters: 9 special forces operators to each. They will use knives and silenced
weapons if possible to kill everyone. No prisoners will be taken.

A marksman/sniper team will be set up over watching the camp and will provide fire support only if
the base is alerted.

If the base is alerted they will switch to their assault rifles and SMG's and kill as many as possible. This
does not look, from intelligence, like a large firebase: likely only 40 or 50 men. Thus we will attempt to
complete the mission should the base be alerted. However, if that is not possible they will withdraw
back up Infiltration Line 3.

If it is possible to complete the mission at this point C4-style explosives will be placed to destroy the
munition storage facility and as many other buildings as possible before the unit withdraws up
Infiltration Line 3.

Emergency Contingency Plan

Infantry Units in Bunkers:

Our front line infantry units are already in their bunkers. Should the mission go badly they will begin to
use their heavy machine guns, mortars, and such to support the retreat of our special forces. They are
not to cross the border or leave their protected positions. All units should be on high alert for a counter
attack.

Artillery Support:

Should the mission go badly a small battery of 5 D-30 122mm howitzers which have been moved into
concealed positions on our side of the border will be used to shell the barracks and firebase in order to
cover the retreat of our units and to attempt to destroy the facility in a secondary manner.
Air Defense:

It is possible the enemy may attempt to pursue us with helicopters or use helicopters and fighters to
bomb our observation post and other positions in retaliation. Thus one SA-11 Gadfly SAM system and
five ZU-23-2 AAA systems will be concealed well in advance. The SA-11 will keep its radar in passive
mode (so that it cant be detected by SEAD) until it needs to fire. They will have orders to shoot
anything down that attempts to cross the border.
