IESPTA organizes its Second ESP Conference, 1-2 June

English for Specific Purposes has now gained substantial body of practice and disciplinary
research that differentiate it as an authentic area within the corpus of the study of English
language as ultimately responsive to the realities of the professional and scientific
surrounding spanning the world. There is a notable emergence of dedicated publications,
special interest groups, training, conventions. With this conference we aim to explore
what efforts and on whose side are needed to have ESP developed and incorporated
into educational policies and universities curricula.
We hereby invite proposals of individual papers, posters, and workshops related to the
topics below, Topics are not limited to above. - to the above

Digital world and ESP
Methods in reading and academic writing
Issues in ESP
Integrating content and language in ESP
Migration and ESP
ESP Teacher
Impact of Technological development on ESP

Submission for papers
Papers are formal presentations on original research by one or more authors, lasting a
total of 30 minutes (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion). Please
note that the time limit will be strictly adhered to.
Abstracts should be up to 300 words in length (including title and references). Title
shouldnt be more than 8 words.
Submission of proposals
Submission is already open and will close on 1 February 2018. Presenters are requested
to include their name, affiliation, email address and a short biography in the submitted
MS-Word documents. All proposals should be sent to: esp@teachers.org
Proposals will be evaluated in terms of quality of content, significance, originality,
thematic relevance, and presentation.
Publication
The outstanding research papers will be published by Peter Lang Publishing.
Conference Presentation Policies
Individuals may submit a maximum of one abstract as first author. If you are not

Paper shouldnt be assigned more than two co-authors.
If you are certain that you will not be able to come, please do not send a paper. Our
experience is that many authors send their papers to conferences just to test the
acceptability of their paper. Please do not send your abstract unless you genuinely
wish to attend the conference and believe you will be able to do so.
