Audition Process Description

I would have an open audition. I would give all those who are auditioning lines to read, and I
would have them read with different groups. I feel that having them go in groups would make
some of them not feel so stressed about auditioning. I think I would also separate those who
had already been in plays before from those that had never been in a play before. I will be
looking for those who can bring real energy into a character. I would like for them to be able to
speak clearly and loudly. I would also like to test those auditioning for parts, see if they would be
able to keep going in the event another person forgets their lines or messes up a part of the
musical. I would give them lines to read out of the play/musical we are going to perform. I want
them to bring a song to sing, so I can know who can sing and who sounds better.
Since I set my date so far ahead I think I could maybe get away with 10 weeks of practice 3-4
days a week. There is 11 songs to learn and I feel that two songs per rehearsal should be long
enough to learn them. Also rehearsals will be from 4-7 pm.
