Materials:
-plain paper
-construction paper
-glue
-paint
Implementations:
-The children will work with me in a small group for this activity.
-We will be making shapes from horizontal and vertical lines.
-The children can make shapes that they want but if they cant think
of any, I will also help them.
-The children can use paint or construction paper to make the
shapes.
Teaching strategies:
Modeling: I will model and show the students what kind of shapes
they can make using the materials. I feel like the students learn
better once you show them what to do.
Challenges: While the students are doing the activity, I can ask them
to make certain shapes. For example, if I ask a student to make a
triangle and they say they dont know how to, I will still ask them to
try.
Reflection:
This activity was great. The students made many different shapes from
the construction paper and the paint. Some of the students were amazed
that all the shapes they were making were made out of lines. One of the
students made a whole checkerboard using construction paper it was
pretty awesome. Next time I will do this activity using more lines and
not just horizontal and vertical lines.
