National Assessment Governing Board of the U.S. Department of
Education; NORC at the University of Chicago
National Content Alignment Study for Grade 8 Reading

I worked with fifteen other reading educators chosen from a national pool to conduct content
alignment based on Grade 8 Reading assessments. We reviewed and analyzed subject content as
well as two national assessments (NAEP and ACT Explore). We used the assessments to track
student achievement and college and career readiness by the end of grade 12.

I worked in collaboration with Dr. Monica Griffin to develop and implement a qualitative research
project focusing on Design Thinking in the Higher Education environment.

2013 to 2014 Researcher

Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Project

I worked in collaboration in collaboration with Dr. Gene Roche to develop and implement a
research project focusing on MOOCs and the use of a MOOC in a liberal arts setting, hosting early
Program of Study courses. My intent was to study and report on the student perspective of a
MOOC, ultimately leading to a proposal to the College.

2015 to present Editor Emerita


The William and Mary Educational Review

As Editor Emerita, I act as advisor and consultant as needed by the Editor-in-Chief, Managing
Editor, and Production Editor as well as other Executive Board and Editorial Board members. I am
also the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and lead the annual Board meeting.

2014 to 2015 Editor-in-Chief


The William and Mary Educational Review

As Editor-in-Chief, I coordinated and presided over all meetings of the Executive Board, Editorial
Board, and Reviewers; approved the design and layout of the publication, website, and any
promotional materials; accepted applications and nominations for members of the Executive Board,
Editorial Board, and Reviewers; consulted with the Managing Editor and Production Editor to
confer appointments of members of the Executive Board, Editorial Board, and Reviewers; assigned
duties to members of the Executive Board; wrote an end-of-year report with the input of the
Executive Board to be delivered to stakeholders; voted on texts to be published; and led the vision
of the journal each year.

2013 to 2014 Production Editor


The William and Mary Educational Review

As Production Editor, I was responsible for the creation of both the print and digital versions of the
journal. Duties included: consult with the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor to confer
appointments of members of the Executive Board, Editorial Board, Financial Manager, and
Reviewers; enforce deadlines and maintain the publication timeline; oversee nominations and
elections; refine and update the journal Constitution; grant or request permissions as needed;
coordinate with the Copy Editors to complete all steps in the production of the final journal; and
vote on any texts to be published.

2012 to 2013 Director of Public Relations

As Director of Public Relations, I designed and promoted the journal website. I also designed,
coordinated, and implemented various social media tools to promote the journal. I communicated
with the School of Education community about the journals goals and generated positive support
within the community. I solicited manuscripts and participated in manuscript reviews, supporting a
blind peer review process. Finally, I voted on any texts to be published.

2012 Founding Member


The William and Mary Educational Review

As part of an executive team, I founded a new student-run journal. Responsibilities included:


creation of Executive board, Editorial board, and reviewer positions and responsibilities;
implementation of a publication timeline; writing and refining the journal Constitution; and
reporting responsibilities to the Dean of the School of Education and The William and Mary
Educational Review advisors.

Professional Positions

2016 to present Coordinator for Distance Education and Instructional Design, Bon Secours
Memorial College of Nursing

I work as an administrator to support all faculty. Responsibilities include: oversee the


implementation of all online education initiatives of the College; maintain professional standards for
quality online education; and enhance on-campus and online education using optimal educational
technology, course design, and delivery methods.

2015 to 2016 Online Course Designer, The College of William and Mary

I worked on a team in order to develop, design, and implement an online course for Design
Thinking. Responsibilities included: discuss and write learning objectives; create online learning
modules; create curricula documents and interactive design challenges and activities; coordinate and
plan with other members of our Steering Committee; and facilitate all online learning modules and
discussions.

2015 to 2016 Graduate Assistant, The College of William and Mary

I provided assistance to faculty in the School of Education. Responsibilities included: clerical and
administrative work; create curricula documents; design a new online course on Design Thinking
supported by the Creative Adaptations Grant; participate in the Steering Committee for the Design
Thinking course; proofread and edit manuscripts for publication; design and create web materials
and websites for internal and external publication; design marketing and advertisements for the
Executive Ed.D. in Administration and Supervision program; and create partnerships between the
School of Education, local schools divisions, and other university associates.

2014 to 2016 Web Designer, Consortium for Research on Educational Assessment and
Teaching Effectiveness (CREATE)

I supported and developed the website and online presence for CREATE. Responsibilities
included: collaboration on and creation of web materials; creation of the look, layout, and features of

the website; understanding of graphic design and computer programming; and on-going web
maintenance.

2015 Course Design E-Learning Assistant, The College of William and Mary

I provided assistance to the staff in Information Technology for the College as well as faculty from
the Arts and Sciences in order to develop and implement a series of online courses. Responsibilities
included: discuss and write learning objectives; create curricula documents and interactive activities;
edit video lectures from faculty members; upload video lectures to Blackboard; and plan with faculty
members.

2015 Social Media Specialist, CMTC-ovm

I prepared social media policy in agreement with the Board of CMTC-ovm and other specialists in
The Netherlands and USA. Responsibilities included: advise the Board on social media policy and
developments; publicize information via social media in order to synchronize actions between The
Netherlands and USA; and inform the Board about the impact of publication based on analytics.

2014 to 2015 Graduate Assistant, School-University Research Network (SURN)

I provided support to the staff of SURN. Responsibilities included: collaboration on the creation of
print brochures; preparation of bulk mailings and other advertising materials; preparation of
participant materials for a variety of professional development initiatives funded by state grants;
assist in the planning and implementation of various grant-funded conferences; cross train for
logistics support; organize, copy, and compile seminar materials; coordinate work efforts across
multiple grants; support and maintain grant files for External Evaluator; assist with the preparation
of grant applications and external funding proposals; and maintain research database.

2012 to 2014 Graduate Assistant, The College of William and Mary

I provided assistance to the faculty and the Office of Admissions in the School of Education.
Responsibilities included: clerical and administrative work; create curricula documents; design online
and hybrid courses for the Reading education program; proofread and edit manuscripts for
publication; design and create web materials and websites for internal and external publication;
create partnerships between the Eastern Virginia Writing Project and members of Congress for
fundraising purposes; assist in the admissions application process; and liaise with alumni.

I provided assistance to the staff in the Technology Integration Center in the School of Education as
well as faculty from the Arts and Sciences in order to develop and implement a series of online

Blackboard; and plan with faculty members.

As staff development coordinator, I selected, researched, and designed technology lessons for pre-
service and in-service teachers. I coordinated with various staff development teams and instructed
staff on different technological tools. I also monitored the effective use of technology in schools.

2011 to 2012 Promethean Leader and Trainer, Henrico County Public Schools

As Promethean leader and trainer, I coordinated all Promethean resources with staff, trained staff
members in the proper and effective use of Promethean boards and resources, monitored the
effective use of Promethean software, and traced and corrected any resource issues with the staff
and technology teams.

2010 to 2012 Yearbook Coordinator and Advisor, Henrico County Public Schools

As the yearbook coordinator and advisor, I managed and assisted a student staff. I supervised
student photography and journalism assignments. I directed the yearbook sales program and
coordinated the distribution of yearbooks. I proofread copy and approved other various materials
for inclusion.

2010 to 2012 English Teacher, 8th grade, Henrico County Public Schools

I provided an innovative and challenging learning environment engaging in effective and appropriate
classroom management. I developed lesson plans that supported project-based learning, ensuring
the attainment of grade learning standards. I developed life-long learners through strong family
involvement, community interaction, and critical problem solving. I addressed individual student
needs determined by required assessments and utilized continuous evaluations and achievement
reports.

2007 to 2010 Instructional Aide, Special Education, 6th-8th grades, Henrico County Public
Schools

I taught every subject in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Responsibilities included: taught math, science, social
studies, English, and all other electives both digitally and in the classroom to groups ranging from
five students to thirty students; helped develop and implement lesson plans; practiced effective
classroom management and parent/student communication methods; designed, organized, and

implemented cumulative folders and notebooks; and collaborated with special needs instructors and
other teachers as needed.

Queens Lake Middle School

I helped select materials and coordinated flipped classroom resources for a middle school English
Department. I designed multiple flipped classroom modules for implementation in the classroom.
