Activating and Installing Vistex DataSources

Activating Vistex datasources is similar to SAP standard datasources using the RSA5
transaction.

Generating a New Vistex Application Hierarchy

Before activating the datasources in transaction RSA5, the Vistex applications hierarchy
must be generated in RSA5 and RSA6 to prevent the Vistex datasources from being in the
UNASSIGNED node.

1. Access transaction /IRM/IPBWSPRO.

2. Select the BW Application Component Hierarchy node.
3. Execute Add Vistex Application Hierarchy Component to insert a Vistex application
into the hierarchy.
4. Execute Transaction Application Component Hierarchy to transfer the standard
application component hierarchy

NOTE: By executing this program, the CUSTOMER CUSTOM applications may be

assigned to NODESNOTCONNECTED. The CUSTOM nodes need to be manually
assigned back to the correct nodes again.
After performing the above procedure, all the Vistex datasources will be found under the
/IRM/VISTEX application component in RSA5 and RSA6.

Customizing or Enhancing Vistex DataSources

Use the transaction code LBWE to find the datasources that are under the /IRM/ application
component in the LO cockpit. Follow the standard procedure to customize or enhance the
datasources.

Running the Load Setup Programs

IMPORTANT: Before running the setup jobs, maintain the number ranges using transaction
SNRO. The number ranges need to be maintained separately in the ECC and BW systems.

Use the transaction /IRM/IPBWSPRO to run the following programs to load the setup tables:

Application Setup Program

Billbacks /IRM/MCIPBB_SETUP_LOAD

Chargebacks /IRM/MCIPCB_SETUP_LOAD

Sales Incentives /IRM/MCIPSI_SETUP_LOAD

Sales Rebates /IRM/MCIPCR_SETUP_LOAD

Purchasing Rebates /IRM/MCIPPR_SETUP_LOAD

Claims /IRM/MCGCR_SETUP_LOAD

Running the Delete Setup Programs

Use the transaction /IRM/IPBWSPRO to run the following programs to delete the setup
tables:

Application Delete Setup Program

Billbacks /IRM/MCIPBB_SETUP_DELETE

Chargebacks /IRM/MCIPCB_SETUP_DELETE

Sales Incentives /IRM/MCIPSI_SETUP_DELETE

Sales Rebates /IRM/MCIPCR_SETUP_DELETE

Purchasing Rebates /IRM/MCIPPR_SETUP_DELETE

Claims /IRM/MCGCR_SETUP_DELETE

NOTE: The standard transaction LBWG does not apply to the Vistex extractors to delete the
setup tables.

Running the Delta Programs

After the initialization takes place from BW, the following jobs need to be scheduled to
extract delta out of R/3. Use the transaction /IRM/IPBWSPRO to execute delta jobs.

Application Delta Program

Billbacks /IRM/MCIPBB_DELTA

Chargebacks /IRM/MCIPCB_DELTA

Sales Incentives /IRM/MCIPSI_DELTA

Sales Rebates /IRM/MCIPSI_DELTA

Purchasing Rebates /IRM/MCIPPR_DELTA

Claims /IRM/MCGCR_DELTA
Vistex Data Extractors
Vistex IP documents have two kinds of extractors: IP Standard Extractors and IP Log

Data Extractor Mechanisms

Vistex IP extractors work similar to standard SAP LO cockpit extractors that are delivered
for sales orders, deliveries, and billing. IP extractors can be enhanced in LBWE and RSA6
similar to standard SAP extractors. All the Vistex extractor data loads can be managed
through transaction code /IRM/IPBWSPRO instead of standard SBIW transaction. There are
provisions in this transaction to run setup jobs, delete setup data, and run delta programs
for each application.

The delta mechanism is different depending upon the type of data that is being extracted to
BW:

IP Standard and Claims

All the IP and Claims applications follow standard LO cockpit mechanism where the
delta needs to be extracted by running the corresponding delta program. After the
initialization and delta programs are run, the delta queue can be found in RSA7 or
LBWQ
Agreement Conditions
Delta for Agreement condition records work based on the change timestamp of the
agreement header data. For example, even if the one condition record changes or if
a status changes on the header of the agreement, the entire condition records for
that agreement are sent to BW. Since this is timestamp based, there are no before
and after records.
Agreement Attributes
Agreement master data datasources also work similar to agreement conditions based
on timestamp.
IP Log Extractors
Delta for Log Extractors work based on the timestamp field available in the Log
header tables for all the applications.
