This is very annoying when you get an error like This Copy of Windows is not genuine on Windows 7, this is
because either you are not running genuine copy of Windows or your license got expired, there is also chance
that a Windows update can cause this problem, in all these three cases you get error at the computer startup

entering CD Key again and again or used any software / Patch to crack windows activation but still you get error
like Windows 7 not genuine or, this copy of windows is not genuine build 7600 / 7601, finally you had no luck
then this tutorial is for you.
Please note that this is just an educational tutorial for the people who bought original windows and still getting
this kind of error or people who want to buy Windows but are not able to buy at this point of time.

Step.1 Go to Start menu and search for cmd, you will get cmd.exe in search result here do a Right Click on
cmd.exe and click on Run as Administrator, and you will get Command Prompt.

Step 2. Once the command prompt is opened now type the following command, SLMGR -REARM , make sure
you type the same command without any mistake, and also ensure that command prompt is opened in
administrator mode otherwise it will not work.

Step 3. Once you typed the above command in command prompt window then hit Enter button on your
keyboard to execute the above command.
Step 4. After you hit enter a confirmation window will appear with the details of command execution as.
Step 5. Now Restart your computer you will not get that error again like Windows 7 build 7600/7601 This
copy of windows is not genuine.

Normally windows update setting remains to Automatic download and install updates, which install the latest
security, compatibility, and many other updates regularly, Microsoft releases updates to fight counterfeit operating
system installation and license keys, such updates sometimes generates the false positive result and your
genuine and original product key get expired so the windows 7 shows not genuine error. If your windows get not

If youre receiving the error that the command is not recognized or whatever, I would
suggest trying SFC /SCANNOW without quotes. This will check all of your Windows
System Files (which should include the slmgr tool and replace if damaged or missing)
be warned, it could be a lengthy scan and if youre running a Pre-7 Version of windows
you will need the install disc to complete.

This did not work. I ran cmd as an Administrator, typed SLMGR -REARM and I am told that slmgr is
not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I assume this fix is
outdated and will no longer work. Is there a more recent fix that will still work?

slmgr is not at that address.

you should search for it in windows directory, navigate to real address in cmd, then do the trick.
note: if address is too long you can copy slmgr.vbs to another address like C:\windows
unfortunately, this trick does not approve that windows is avctive in windows system, only set the
day counter to 30.

Rename this to slmgr.vbs. After that put in the command SLMGR -REARM in the command line. You
will need to reactavate your windows in the next 30 days. but if you need more time to activate like 240
days. Type in regedit on the search bar. Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft
/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/SoftwareProtectionPlatform..And on the right side fine SkipRearm, right
click modify and change 0 to 1. Then Restart your computer..Your windows 7 build 7601 message
should be gone.

I tried this, it seemed to work. Rebooted the computer. About an hour or two later, I got the not running
genuine Windows message again. The error code at the bottom of the error window is 0x8004fe21.
What do I do from here? My computer is custom built by a company per my specs, they installed
Windows 7 and the product key sticker is still on the side of the computer. Its worked just fine since I

I do read every comment, but there are certain question which is already discussed in post, also
rearm works for 3 times only, one can reset rearm clock to many like 1000s of time in single rearm
which will lead to permanent activation, but i am not going to write about it because it is against

problem is after doing the said procedure, the windows 7 is not genuine is still here. i also search for
the kb971033 but it isnt there.

SLMGR is not reconized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
2) unistalling KB971033 + restart did not cancel the notice build 7601 this copy of windows is not
genuine notice on my screen

YAY! I restarted and dont see the alert anymore. But I was trying to find the update KB971033 to delete
and its nowhere on the list of updates. My eyes hurt from looking & looking. Also, whats the downside
of deactivating the updates?
Another quick question debating whether to install the free windows 10 on my laptop & at work again.
I installed at work and it seemed to slow EVERYTHING. Startup was unbelievably slow. It changed all
my programs like Adobe. So I uninstalled. Opinions on the new 10? Thanks again!!!

If you have low configuration computer then dont go for windows 10, but if you have at least intel
core i5, 8 GB Ram, 500GB Hard disk and good graphics card then you can go for windows 10 and
it will work without any lag

Hi sandeep even i am facing the same problem. I did -rearm several times. it worked for me few times
but again same problem. I reset the count from 0 to 1. Deleted the update file and what not. but the
same message shown on the screen. pls help me.

exceeded the number of times I can rearm. I know this copy of windows is genuineI have tried to
enter the ID# and it will not let me.

purpose of trying to spying, and these buggy updates break apps and damage settings. Win 10 is
so crappy because the whole Operating System was designed for that exact purpose. Spying, or
as MS calls it, telemetry features, A word used to disguise Spying. Thats why they started trying
to force 10 on people. They want full access and control over how customers use their computers.
Your only option for a problem free experience is to get away from windows and/or Microsoft.

Only option left is to use patch/crack which I dont recommend or write about, it is better to get
original Windows 7 key.

Please take a full backup of your system before reinstalling windows. Besides, its advisable to format
only C:\ Drive which has the OS. With this, your other applications wont be deleted.
However, for a safe route, take a backup.

One simple comment for all of those who say slmgr.exe isnt recognized it is in the \Windows
\System32 directory, so change directories first and viola!

Thank you. I have a legit copy of Win 7 which was validated twice last year but I installed a new sound
card which must have somehow changed a setting and let MS block me. I talked with one of their
people for almost two hours yesterday and did not get any resolution to the problem. My Dell isnt worth
sinking the cost of a new OS into so your advice has saved me some time and money until I can get
around to getting a new system.
