Greetings,
To
Whom
It
May
Concern:
It
gives
me
great
pleasure
to
write
this
letter
of
recommendation
for
Andrew
Heidorn,
to
be
considered
for
a
choral
teaching
position.
I
have
known
Andrew
for
a
number
of
years
at
the
University
of
Arizona,
in
a
number
of
capacities.
He
has
been
first
a
student-colleague
(as
I
was
a
graduate
student
while
he
was
an
undergraduate),
then
a
student
of
mine
(in
Choral
Methods),
and
has
also
been
a
performer
under
my
direction
(for
several
performance
opportunities).
His
attention
to
musical
detail
and
assigned
duties
and
coursework
is
first
rate.
Andrew
is
a
prime
prospect
for
any
teaching
position,
as
he
has
prepared
himself
to
begin
his
journey
into
the
teaching
profession,
and
is
very
interested
in
a
process
of
lifelong
learning
to
better
his
skills
and
develop
his
craft
as
a
choral
music
teacher.
He
cares
deeply
about
people,
his
students
and
fellow
colleagues,
and
is
always
looking
at
ways
to
improve
his
communication
and
interactions
with
them.
Andrew
represents
the
finest
in
our
new
generation
of
choral
conducting
students,
who
will
soon
take
over
the
leadership
of
our
profession
and
of
ACDA
(the
American
Choral
Directors
Association)
as
young
conductors
and
teachers.
He
is
a
tireless
worker,
always
ready
to
help,
and
consistently
looking
for
ways
to
make
the
choirs
and
groups,
with
which
he
is
associated,
better
musically
or
organizationally.
Andrew
has
always
shown
an
interest
in
learning
more
about
our
profession,
in
honing
his
skills
as
a
conductor
and
music
educator,
and
in
being
involved
in
ACDA.
He
has
made
a
great
effort
to
attend
ACDA
conventions
at
the
state
level,
both
student
convocations
and
state
conventions,
regional
level
and
national
level.
In
short,
I
would
give
Andrew
Heidorn
my
highest
recommendation
to
be
considered
for
a
teaching
position.
If
you
would
like
any
further
information,
please
do
not
hesitate
to
call
on
me.
Sincerely,
Richard
