Canaan Malcolm was a living fossil. He shared his name with his hometown, Malcolm's Bluff.

His family founded it, had the Native Americans not already had an Outpost there. Once one of
the proudest Confederate families in Pelham county, incest eventually dethroned the local
royalty. By the time of Canaans birth, the Malcolms were known for their short height and
shallow chins. Indeed, Canaan stood at 5 foot 1 and had nearly no chin to speak of,
disregarding his second and third. Malcolm's Bluff fell nearly as far as the family. 10 people live
there. 50% of the population has syphilis. 60% of the population is related.

The body was skinless, composed of popped tendons and fatty flesh sloughing off the bone. It
would've been easy enough to vomit and get over the image had it not sighed when we left the
