Coupling systems today

Battery based inverter should be 10% larger

than grid tie inverter
Some brands of GT inverters are sensitive and
disconnect from battery inverter
DC Diversion Load must be used to control
battery charging, or use a solid state voltage
relay to disconnect the PV source.
Frequency shift is used as a backup to DC
Diversion Load (failsafe feature, not primary

 How does Frequency Shift work?

IEEE Standards require tight grid frequency and

voltage tolerances in order to connect to the grid
Frequency Shift is a fail safe gap feature that
changes the output frequency of the inverter
from 60 Hz to 60.6Hz and should not be used as
the main protection for battery over-charging
Frequency Shift is enabled when battery type is
set to Custom and occurs at +1 VDC for 12v
models, +2 VDC for 24v models and + 4v for 48v
models, above the absorption voltage setting
