CHAPTER - II
SELECTION OF THE LOCATION
2.1 Canteen Location

For the preparation of the canteen, the open place just after the entrance of the
Rabindra Sarani Campus of the Dept. of Civil & Environmental Engineering,
Uttara University, which is in front of the Library Veranda and beside the Dutch
Bangla Bank ATM Booth, has been selected.

2.2 Present Use: The Location Selected for Establishment of Canteen

For the placement of the photocopy machine the veranda beside the library can be
used. It is already been surrounded by grill and an opening for the entrance are
provided. Do not have to think about the security problem.

CHAPTER-III
AREA SURVEY AND FEASIBILITY STUDY
3.1 Total Area for the Establishment of the Canteen

After taking the measurement of the location, the total area found as 301.6 sq. feet.
The area is trapezoidal in shape.

3.2 Relocation of the Existing Parking Facility

Generally on week days at evening hours, 10~12 Nos. (on Average and
Maximum 12 Nos.) bikes and Cycles are parked by the students.
This parking space can be relocated in front of the Fluid Mechanics &
Hydraulics Laboratory where now, a table and carom board has been placed
for the students.
From the experience, it has been seen, students are not interested to use that
place for taking rest and other purposes.
If a parking facility with markings and dividers for individual bike
placement can be established, it can accommodate 10 Nos. of bikes easily in
two rows, after providing a path for the entry to the Fluid Mechanics &
Hydraulics Laboratory.
Detail area plan has been provided in Appendix-B.

3.3 Area of the Veranda for the Placement of Photocopy Machine

After taking the measurement of the location, the total area of the veranda found as 78
square feet (13*6).
