Project

PAYMENT FRAMEWORK FOR INTERNET VIDEO STREAMING

Streaming of multimedia contents is one of the most demanding services due to the
high bandwidth availability these days.The access to Multimedia-on-Demand (MoD) services
can be free, based on a subscription or making an individual payment for each content.
In my project we have introduced the Pay-Per-View (PPV) concept through which the
user can have additional contents available for a low price. The concept of micropayment is
also introduced through which the user can make payments only for the portion of the content
they have viewed,
Unfortunately, to the date, there is no standardized MoD payment framework
designed to support payments independently of the payment brand and protocol used. We
have created a framework that supports any kind of payment such as e-coins, credit/debit
cards etc.
In our project we have used JSP technology for the web pages. I developed two of the
modules in which the visa authentication process was done and also stream media from the
server to client. The database that we have used is MS Office Excel which I created and
maintained. For visa and other authentication process we have used .NET (Dot Net) and with
the help of apache tomcat server we tested my creation.
