Content:
Conductors are materials that permit electrons to flow freely from particle to
particle.
In contrast to conductors, insulators are materials that impede the free flow of
electrons from atom to atom and molecule to molecule.
Electricity is a form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles
(such as electrons or protons), either statically as an accumulation of charge or
dynamically as a current.
An electron is a negatively charged component of an atom. Electrons exist
outside of and surrounding the atom nucleus.
Lesson Development:
Introduction: At the beginning of the lesson, teacher will ask students what are
conductors, insulators, electricity, electrons and electric circuit.

Step 1: Class will discuss the responses given and corrections will be made to
them where necessary.

Step 2: Notes will be given on the definition of conductors, insulators, electricity,


electrons and electric circuit.

Step 3: Class will be asked to give examples of conductors and insulators.

Step 4: Students will be requested to give the purpose of conductors and insulators
in society.
