OI.2 All life forms, including human life, are connected through ecosystems on which they depend for their
wellbeing and survival.
Lesson 1
In this lesson students will be looking at the history of indigenous art. They will be investigating the different aspect
that would have contributed to the ecosystem that the artist would have been exposed to. Also the impact of the
different life forms and how humans lived that would have impacted their way of living and especially the effect it
would have on an artist and how that might been seen in their art work.

OI.5 World views are formed by experiences at personal, local, national and global levels, and are linked to
individual and community actions for sustainability.
Lesson 5

students are working on their dot painting they can discuss their ideas with their peers. The students will write their
final action plan on a sticky note and this will act as their ticket out the door or to their next class. This will allow
students to reflect on their ideas, hear feedback from others and talk about their experiences.

and community action that values local and global equity and
fairness across generations into the future.

When discussing the different tools that can be used for the dot painting students will be guided by the teacher to
think about the different sustainable aspect of the items they are suggesting. Class will also talk about tools that
would not be classes as sustainable e.g. plastic straws.
OI.7 Actions for a more sustainable future reflect values of care, respect and responsibility, and require us to
explore and understand environments.
Lesson 2
Through the incursion Amanda Healy will be discussing the different way that KIrrikin thinks about the future and how
they are doing their part to make sure they are helping the environment.
OI.8 Designing action for sustainability requires an evaluation of past practices, the assessment of scientific
and technological developments,
and balanced judgements based on projected future economic, social and environmental impacts.
Lesson 6
Students will reflect on the last lessons ticket out task and discuss how that activity may have changed their
perspective on sustainability. If so what have they changed to become more sustainable and how can they improve.
