ASSESSMENT

Diagnostic:
Review previous lesson.
1. Why is it important to select templates, themes, and layouts before adding text, images, word art,
graphics, and shapes? (the templates, themes, and layouts act as the foundation of the presentation and
must be chosen before adding other elements)
Introduce new concepts
1. When would it be appropriate to use Word Art and text boxes? (objective 2)
Formative:
Throughout Presentation:
1. When and where is Word Art appropriate to use? (titles, headings, new sections/one place per slide)
2. How does resizing a text box differ from resizing word art? (resizing a text box does not change the size of
the text; resizing word art does change the size of text)
3. How can using hyperlinks improve your presentation? (hyperlinks allow for easy navigation and flow
throughout presentation/allow you to access other source from the presentation directly)
4. When would it be appropriate to use links that connect you to other parts of the presentation? (for
long/elaborate presentations)
5. What is the purpose of having the text option available in your link? (so that the full hyperlink does not
have to be shown)
6. Why would you want to crop an image in a presentation? (to eliminate unwanted parts/to fit the image
on the slide)
7. How should you go about resizing an image? Why? (resize by using the corner anchor to keep image
proportions intact)
8. Why would you use shapes in a presentation? (to label something, point out something, draw attention)

Students will carry out tasks on their own computer/laptop as they are demonstrated (Objectives 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
Summative:
Completion of game show presentation-practice use of hyperlinks/word art in pairs. (Objectives 1, 2, 3)
MATERIALS
Access to Google Drive/Google Slides
Access to Applied Education Systems for quizzes
Television to display tutorial videos
Students will need desktops or laptops
EXTENTED ACTIVITIES
If Student Finishes Early
If a student finishes early they can begin the photo album presentation assignment. This assignment has students
apply objectives 1,4, and 5 in greater depth.
If Lesson Finishes Early
If the lesson finishes early the class will begin work on the photo album presentation assignment.
If Technology Fails
If technology fails I will provide handouts of presentation and alternatively work through concepts in Microsoft
PowerPoint since it is similar to Google Slides.
Differentiating Instruction for
Students with Special Needs

Please describe all that apply:

Needs-Based Planning

Learning Differences Sensory Differences

Attention Differences Behavioral Differences

6th Period- The entire class (8 students) in general are
distracted and lack motivation. Students will be asked
review questions directly as opposed to the entire class in
order to ensure accountability in students attention
throughout lesson.

7th Period-Two students tend to be off task, distracted, or

behind. I will walk around the room to ensure they are on
the appropriate site throughout class.

I teach both sessions, which has proved to be useful. I can

immediately make changes and improvements on my
lesson.
Motivational Differences Ability Differences
Two students inability to read may cause problems
completing assignments. I will provide individual assistance
as needed and enhanced visual directions for completing
assignments.
Physical Differences Cultural Differences

Communication Differences Enrichment
