Chemical and Materials Engineering Department

Chemical and materials engineering is a fascinating discipline involved in building and

sustaining the world around us as well as designing new materials for the future. If you are
interested in converting raw materials into useful products or are fascinated by altering the
chemical or physical state of a substance to create a better material - then our department may
be the right place for you to further your study.

We provide a unique and stimulating learning and research environment, exposing students to
a wide diversity of viewpoints and hands-on teaching/learning styles. Our goal is to prepare
and train you with the skills needed to be leaders of the future to solve real world,
multidisciplinary problems.

Task4

Civil and Environmental Engineering Department

Civil and environmental engineers design the foundations of modern society. Our department
focuses on offering tangible solutions for the built environment, and providing students with
the resources necessary to succeed within the field of civil and environmental engineering.Civil
and environmental engineering prepares students so that they can effectively plan, design,
construct and maintain living and working spaces; along with infrastructure such as
skyscrapers, motorways, bridges, tunnels and dams. Its critical for meeting the needs of
environmental protection and urban regeneration; with economically sustainable systems that
manage clean water supply, wastewater treatment, land and air pollution.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Department

Modern world infrastructure is largely based on the work of electrical, computer and software
engineers; from generation and distribution of electricity to providing telecommunication and
internet services, portable and embedded computers and numerous software applications. All
modern systems used in everydays private or business life, such as mobile phones, vehicles,
home and building automation or industrial control systems, will not exist if there are not
electrical, computer and software engineers.

Task4

Engineering Science Department

Engineering science is the discipline underpinning all modern engineering practice. The key
feature of engineering science is the use of advanced mathematics and technology to solve real
world engineering, business and industrial problems. The Department of Engineering Science
offers two-degree specialisations: Biomedical Engineering, and Engineering Science.

Mechanical Engineering Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides proven and practical programmes with majors in
Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. Our design and project-intensive curriculum will provide
you with the expertise to solve real-life and complex engineering problems, and prepare you for the
challenges of designing and manufacturing advanced products and services for the 21st century.
