Residence Application procedures

Anyone staying in Mayapur for longer than 4 months is required to apply for Residency from the MCS. This paper lays out the
procedures you will need to follow in order to present your residency application.

APPLYING FOR RESIDENCY IN MAYAPUR:


The following documents should be submitted to the MCS office with an application fee of Rs. 1000
for 1st person 800 for 2nd person in family and from 3rd onwards 500 for each family member. This is
payable on a yearly basis.

1. Xerox copies of your (and your childrens) passports.

2. You need to send an e-mail to Child Protection Office (iskconcpo@gmail.com) to request


clearance to reside in Mayapur. They will add MCS Office as a receiver when they reply. Send
them your legal names, spiritual names, name of spiritual masters, country of birth, country of
residence and date of birth. Only the adults in the family need to send this info.

3. You need to request your temple/yatra authorities to send us two recommendation letters for
yourself. The recommendation letters should only be sent to mcs.off@gmail.com directly. They
are not allowed to cc you when providing the letters. The 2 letters preferably should be from the
temple president and vice president.

A recommendation letter should include the following information: the time period you knew
the devotee, the service he/she performed, your evaluation of his/her personal dealings and
devotional practices, any challenges they are facing, and a comment regarding his/her allegiance to
ISKCON and general relationship with authorities. If the applicant is married, comment on the
nature of the relationship with the spouse as well as the level of commitment to the children (if
there are any). A recommendation letter from your Gurudev or GBC wont be accepted as a
recommendation letter. The email address, phone no and skype addresses of devotees who are
providing the recommendation letters should be included in the letter.

4. Provide passport size photographs for each individual. Paste it on the forms and send us digital
copies of them as well.

You can submit your completed form by e-mail or in person. Once the form and all documents are received, it
will take at least two weeks before you receive a decision by e-mail on the approval of your application.

We will then issue Sponsorship (visa invitation) letters if necessary and these will be sent to you by courier or
e-mail. You can use these letters to obtain a visa from an Indian embassy to stay in India. If you receive your
letters by courier you will need to pay the fees upon your arrival in Mayapur.

If you intend to stay in India for some time and extend your visa, it is important to note that visa extension is
not granted automatically. It is possible that your application for extension may be unsuccessful, in which
case you will have to leave the country. Come prepared for this possible expense.

If you have an existing medical condition that requires special facilities or medication please research the
availability of such before coming and make sure you have adequate funds to manage your health care for the
duration of your stay. We strongly suggest that you arrange accommodation before coming.
An application will automatically deem cancelled, if all requirements for approval are not met within 3
months from the date of submission. It will also be cancelled if you dont reside in Mayapur for two years in a
row or dont pay community fees. This is applicable after you have been approved as a resident.

Once you are approved, we will also have an online database with all your information that you provided us.
It is your responsibility to keep all the information up to date on the online database. You will be provided
with a member id and password to access your database on community.mayapur.com
MCS office Fees
The fees that are mentioned here are for the services that MCS Office offers. You need to make
payment for whatever applies to you.

1) Mayapur Residency Application 500 Rs


2) Invitation Letter 500 Rs
3) Extension Letter 500 Rs
4) Bank Letter 200 Rs
5) Address Proof 200 Rs
6) Miscellanies 200 Rs
7) Courier Fees 1600 Rs (This is not fixed) Must be paid before we send courier.
8) For all duplicate letters for lost or misplaced documents 100 Rs
9) For all duplicate letters with changes the original price will be charged.

Yearly Mayapur Community Fees

This fee is charged to all approved members of MCS. There is a discount


for larger families. Please see the details below. This fee is used to
maintain various MCS initiatives for the betterment of the community.

The fee needs to be paid when you are requesting an invitation or


extension. If you request for a 5 year visa then the community fees need
to be paid for five years now. If you are facing financial difficulties to
pay five years straight away then you can always apply for the one year
visa and pay for the yearly fees at the time of extension every year.

For extending your visa, you will be required to pay for the extension to
the Indian Government at the FRO office.

A) 1 st persons = 1000 Rs
B) 1 st person + 1 Dependent 1000 + 800 = 1800 Rs
C) 1 st person + 2 Dependent 1000 + 800 + 500 = 2300 Rs
D) From the 4 th person onwards it is 500 Rs per person.

Important Information Make sure to take receipts


for all your payment. Also keep them safe with you.
We might ask you for receipt to show proof of
payment. If you are unable to show you might be
required to pay again.
