Group Assignment 2- Drug and Alcohol Related Violence

Purpose
To investigate how health may be impacted upon by alcohol and drug use and its link to violent behaviour.

Description of Assessment
This assessment tasks consists of three parts, a group presentation and investigation, the creation of a health
promoting strategy and an individual discussion. Evidence from all will be submitted for grading.
Part 1- Group Investigation and Presentation
1. Discuss and analyse the issue of alcohol and drug related violence (I1)
2. Select an aspect of violence related to drug and alcohol use
3. Investigate the impact the issue has on personal and community health and well-being (I1)
4. Discuss contemporary health promoting strategies/programs and or agencies that are aiming to reduce your
chosen issue and what they are doing (I3)
5. Present and discuss your new strategy (see part 2) (A3)ka
6. Present all findings in a creative and engaging way (I2/A3)
7. Obtain feedback from your presentation and created health promoting strategy

Part 2- Health Promoting Strategy (A3)


1. Based on your knowledge of existing strategies and agencies, create your own health promoting strategy
that aims to improve the health of individuals and the community in your selected area for example,
awareness raising, school programs, community talks, educational materials, advertisements etc
2. Create a name, aim and description for your strategy
3. Create all required materials/resources for your strategy

Part 3: Individual Discussion


Individually, evaluate the group investigation, presentation and health promoting strategy. This must include:

1. A detailed discussion and analysis of your findings (I1)


2. A discussion about existing strategies and agencies and how they are aiming to address the health issue (I3)
3. A description, discussion and evaluation of your created strategy using feedback including how your strategy
would improve health outcomes (A3/CAE2)
4. Self and group evaluation integrating feedback discussing (A1/CAE3):
Your preparation and group contribution
Your groups work ethic
Your presentation

Within your individual discussion also attach evidence of your groups planning and presentation including planning
sheets, presentation slides, cue cards, strategy resources, feedback and video evidence of your presentation

Assessment Conditions
Individual discussion is to be a maximum of 3000 words
Individuals within the group are required to contribute to a minimum of 5 minutes throughout the presentation
Hard copy to be submitted and an electronic version via SEQTA
