A -11184
REINFORCEMENT OF 33
SUPPLY DEPARTMENT kV NETWORK IN AL AIN,
WEST & SOUTH AREA

All necessary DMS configurations, parameterization, and modifications and end-to end
testing shall be carried out to ensure that DMS control centre receives the alarm/ trip signals
from the contacts of the newly installed line differential relays.

1.14.5 Current and Voltage Transformers

The existing current and voltage transformers in the 33 kV panel at Al Wagan Grid Station
may not have the necessary cores required for line differential protection. The
CONTRACTOR shall verify the suitability of the existing CT and VT cores for the
proposed line differential protection, and in case the existing CTs and/or VTs are found
unsuitable shall include for replacement with suitable CTs/VTs.

1.15 Protection Relays Settings Study

For the 33/11 kV package units substation the Contractor shall carry out a comprehensive
protection relay setting study. It shall cover all voltage levels of the substation and shall in
particular provide necessary calculations for grading and resetting of the protection relays of
all 33 kV circuits between the feeding grid station and the receiving P/U substation,
including substation transformers and 11 kV level.
The study shall comprise all required short circuit calculations and include necessary
grading with existing upstream and downstream protection systems. All protection relay
setting calculations shall be performed using ETAP software and shall be submitted and
integrated with existing AADC ETAP modules.
The Contractor shall update the AADC ASPEN data base for all new/relocated substation
sites, additional 33 kV cable circuits, and 33 kV panel protection conversions covered by
this scope of work. The study shall be submitted as hard and soft copy.
All related testing and commissioning activities at the P/U substation, including
transformers and associated protection and control schemes, and at the respective 33 kV
switchgear panels of the feeding grid station shall be deemed to be included in the
CONTRACTORS scope of services.
The Contractor shall provide complete protection system documentation incl. software for
settings, parameterization, analysis of disturbance records, licenses, maintenance manuals,
and fault finding manuals etc. All protection relay setting studies shall be provided to
AADC both as hard and as soft copies. All software licenses related to AADC shall be
registered under AADCs name.

1.16 DMS Integration Requirements

1.16.1 General
The Package Unit Substation described above shall be fully integrated into the DMS system
operated by AADC as part of the CONTRACTORS Scope of Work and as per the
following ADDC/AADC specifications.
Full integration (hardware and software) of the stations is in the CONTRACTORS scope of
works, where the CONTRACTOR shall supply, install, test, and commission all equipment
and accessories deemed necessary for the full integration of the stations to be reliably
established on the DMS System.
