Job Description

Position Title: Process Safety Engineer - National

Department: Project Development

Location: Jakarta - Indonesia

Reports to: Facilities Engineering Manager

Purpose:
To ensure that the design of new process facilities meets the highest standard in terms of
safety and environmental care, so that the risk to the people and environment will be as low
as practicable.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


To review process design provided by engineering contractor in terms of safety and
environmental care, ensuring it is in compliance with Company Standards and the best
engineering practices
To develop process facilities safety philosophy
To lead facilities HAZOP and SIL sessions and risk assessments
To review safety related studies and ensure that all actions identified to mitigate risks
are implemented
Providing guidance and support for compliance with processes and procedures aimed at
managing and reducing risk
Identification of Process Safety improvement opportunities and participation in
Company Process Safety improvement initiatives
Maintaining knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations relevant to process
operations and process safety
Supporting HSEQ in carrying out audit programs to measure compliance with operating
procedures
Representing the company at industry, regulatory, national and/or international level,
where appropriate
Safety Responsibilities:
HSES awareness in all duties and activities/compliance enforcement with general HSES
rules. Comply with requirements of the Safety, Health and Environmental laws of Indonesia
and to obey the corporate policy of eni Indonesia on Safety, Health and Environment, and to
practice eni Indonesia Safety Systems.

Main Interfaces:
INTERNAL:
Facilities Engineering Team, HSEQ Engineer
EXTERNAL:
Engineering contractor, local authorities, JV partners.

Qualifications & Experience:


Degree in Engineering
Fluent in English
At least 7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry in both onshore and/or offshore
facilities
At least 5 years of experience and proven track record in process safety for
hydrocarbon processing, process simulation and project development

Required Competencies:
Broad knowledge of Major Accident Hazards and Risk Management in the upstream
business
Practical experience of field operations, preferably offshore, including process safety
practices
Expert knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements, HSE management
systems and industry HSE standards
Knowledge of associated technical/engineering disciplines
Familiar with local industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry
Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally
Effective communicator both written and verbal
Software: FlareNet and FlareSim user

Working Conditions:
Stringent planning obligations
Potential lack of detailed information
Inherent multi-disciplinary subject
Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to visit
a Contractors office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. When
performing work outside the office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment
will be provided as required. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions
listed above will generally apply
