Job Description
Purpose:
To ensure that the design of new process facilities meets the highest standard in terms of
safety and environmental care, so that the risk to the people and environment will be as low
as practicable.
Required Competencies:
Broad knowledge of Major Accident Hazards and Risk Management in the upstream
business
Practical experience of field operations, preferably offshore, including process safety
practices
Expert knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements, HSE management
systems and industry HSE standards
Knowledge of associated technical/engineering disciplines
Familiar with local industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry
Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally
Effective communicator both written and verbal
Software: FlareNet and FlareSim user
Working Conditions:
Stringent planning obligations
Potential lack of detailed information
Inherent multi-disciplinary subject
Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to visit
a Contractors office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. When
performing work outside the office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment
will be provided as required. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions
listed above will generally apply
