which composed of 87%. Out of 100%, 87% is the highest and 13% was the

lowest.

3. Effect of the implemented curfew for minor in terms of:

3.1 disciplining at home

The minors were aware of the barangay ordinance: curfew for minors. Thats

why when it is already 9:00-9:30 P.M. There is no minors roaming around the

street, because they knew that the ordinance must be followed. The effect of the

implemented curfew in terms of disciplining at home is that the parents will be in

charge on ordering their child not to go out when its late at night.

According to American Journal of Police, (Vol. XV, No.1 1996 p.63)

Curfew enforcement appears to vary widely, especially since few legislatures

appropriate funds for police to take children off the streets. Just as arrests reduce

patrol time, so does processing curfew violators. The effect of full curfew

enforcement on crime is thus open to question.

Ancheta- Templa (2000), describes children and youth as victim -survivors

of the socio-economically-rooted injuries of their families and communities

3.2 curfew in communities

The barangay tanod were doing their daily duty which is rounding around

the city also known as ronda. They make sure that every one of them are doing

their duties properly to secured the communities and to make sure that the

minors were following the said ordinance. The barangay tanod are doing their
duties by groups so that if one of them has an emergency, some of them still can

do the ronda session.

In addition, Adams (2003) notes Public opinion shows overwhelming support

for curfews, the primary basis for this support conviction that the conviction that

curfews reduce crime and make the street safer.

4. Significant difference between perception of parents and minors in the

effectiveness in the implementation of curfew for minors

Effectiveness Frequency Percentage

Parents: 18 39%
Minors: 28 61%
Total: 46 100%
The table shows that 18 were parents, which composed of 39% while the 28 are

minors which composed of 61%. Out of 100%, 61% was the highest and 39%

was the lowest.

Not Effective Frequency Percentage

Parents: 1 25%
Minors: 3 75%
Total: 4 100%
The table shows that 1 were parent, which composed of 25%, while the 3 were

minors composed of 75%. Out of 100%, the highest is 75% and the lowest was

25%.

5. Significant different between the answer of the two groups of respondents

between question 1 and 3
There is no significant different between the answer of the two groups of

respondents because the question 1 shows that the barangay ordinance curfew

for minors, the parents and minors were all aware about the ordinance. On the

other hand, the question 3 shows that the curfew helps in disciplining the minors

at home and at the communities. It only shows that the barangay ordinance:
Curfew for minors were effectively implemented to the barangay of

Pinagtongulan Lipa City.

6. Action plan maybe proposed in order to strengthen the implementation of

curfew among minors

The action plan that the researchers suggest are the brochure, house to

house visitation and orientation in the residents of barangay Pinagtongulan Lipa

City.
