•• Huawei Symantec VPN gateway series provides extensive
IP VPN access modes, such as L2TP, IPSec, GRE, MPLS,
and SSL, and supports various encryption/decryption
algorithms such as DES, 3DES, and AES.
•• Huawei Symantec VPN gateway series flawlessly
interconnects with the IPSec VPN and MPLS VPN to
thoroughly ensure networking flexibility and security.
•• Huawei Symantec VPN gateway series provides a
convenient SSL VPN access mode that adopts the thin
client and standard Web browser to allow secure intranet
access. Hierarchical E2E security for remote access is
guaranteed by robust identity authentication measures
refined control, and various encryption/decryption
algorithms such as DES, 3DES, and AES.
•• Huawei Symantec VPN gateway series supports virtualization.
Through this feature, a single security gateway can be
virtualized into several logical gateways, the functions of
which are as powerful as those of the physical gateway. The
logical gateways also support private address overlapping,
and can save the independent routes and forwarding entries
of multiple VPNs to ensure secure service isolation.
Rich services and comprehensive authentication

•• The SSL VPN provides comprehensive remote access for
intranet applications. Through the SSL VPN, a remote
terminal implements instant access based on Web
interfaces. The SSL VPN also supports application access,
such as Web server secure access, file sharing, and
access by Notes, Exchange, FTP, Oracle, Telnet, SSH, RDP,
and VNC. Abundant service application support brings
unprecedented scalability to enterprise applications, and
the SSL VPN supports all-around service access through
VPN tunnels.
•• The SSL VPN supports authentication and authorization
based on user names and passwords, as well as general
authentication and external authorization platforms
such as RADIUS, LDAP, SecurID, and X.509 and USB
Key+digital certificates. The SSL VPN also supports syslogs,
administrator logs, and user access logs to realize a high
grade auditing platform.
Easy implementation and management —
lowering deployment and maintenance costs
•• The VPN Manager can read related device data, such as
configuration files, to automatically discover and restore
the IPSec VPN services available on the current network.
•• The VPN Manager can define and rehearse IPSec VPN
services offline, the effects of which can be instantly
viewed in topological views.
•• The VPN Manager provides performance statistics and
configuration auditing functions to allow users to query
and monitor VPN service performance in real time. Such
performance data includes traffic volume, bandwidth
usage, delay, packet loss, and jitter. The VPN Manager
provides historical performance data for analysis and
regularly checks configurations on the network service
management system and devices for inconsistencies.
If any are found, the VPN Manager sends an alarm to
maintenance personnel and outputs details.
