Wed. Sept. 1 – Mass at 8:45 prepared by Grades 5 & 6
Mon. Sept. 6 – Labor Day – No School
Tues. Sept 7 – Deadline to turn in Health and Immunization forms
 Our air conditioner that cools MI and MIIB has died and will be replaced on Thursday. There
will be a crane here tomorrow morning at 6:30 to exchange the old unit with the new one on
the roof of the school. The crane work is expected to be finished by 7:00 am and hopefully will
not interfere with the drop off of your student. We just want you to be aware of the work that’s
going on, keeping the safety of all as the highest priority.
 Classroom presentations will be held on Thursday night, August 26, at 6:30 and repeated at
7:00. Montessori III will have only one presentation at 7:00. This evening is designed for just
the parents, not the students. It is our hope that you will get a feel for the student’s daily
routine and the goals that the teacher has set for the year. Children whose parents attend may
come to school out of uniform the next day. Individual parent-teacher conferences will be
held later. You are always welcome to contact the school or teacher by email or phone. If you
need another list of teacher emails, it is available in the school office.
 WELCOME BACK to all our returning Prince of Peace families, and a special welcome and hello to
our new families. We are beginning our year with 112 students (76 families), down a few from our end
of the year last May. It is through the dedication and sacrifices of you, our parents, that Prince of Peace
School can continue its mission to teach children to follow the Gospel of Christ, achieve academic
excellence, serve others, and develop leadership skills. We welcome Ms. Libby Cherrington (M II B)
and Mrs. Denise Pecha ( III) to our faculty and Prince of Peace family. The year is off to a good start.
 The NDUEC, Notre Dame Urban Education Center, offers help with homework and reinforcement in
Math and Reading, the Arts, and P.E. for school children from 3 – 6:00 pm at their 8th St. location in
Covington. You may choose for your child to participate up to five days a week, Monday through
Friday, or any day(s) that is convenient. The length of the afternoon attendance is also flexible. The
Center opened this summer and one of our parents has already sung its praises for its friendly approach
and her child’s success. Her son liked going there each day for six weeks during the summer. Call 261-
4487 for more information. An application is going home to each family today. Extra applications are in
the school office and they must be returned to us by Friday, September 3. The program begins
Monday, September 13.

 SCHOOL UNIFORM SWEATSHIRTS can be ordered by using the

form below and sending it to the school office. The sweatshirts all look alike, so please
encourage your child to be responsible for their own sweatshirt when it is taken off.
