Nature of Work
Musicians and Singers both record and play in front of an audience, singers often have to
create there own music or buy it off someone and then spend hours upon hours recording their
music in a studio. The work of singers are to produce music for others and help them with their
problems as they deal with there own problems, while musicians are different in a way as they
play instruments in a band or solo depending on the musician. Both musicians and singers work
to entertain an audience and provide encouragement and confidence to there fans while doing
Working Conditions
Both Musicians and Singers work in the same conditions, as they work at studios
recording music and they both travel around the world playing at concerts, bars, arenas, clubs.
They both spend many hours traveling around the world playing for their many fans and while
they do spend many hours traveling the rest of their time is spent at the recording studio that they
are assigned to. its a very demanding job being a Singer or Musician as they need to make
music in a certain period of time and have it approved, so they spend a ton of hours working on
Employment
2
The employment growth for Musicians and Singers is below the average for the job
economy, as the Singer and Musicians job economy is extremely competitive while also holding
the largest amount of people in any job career in terms of people wanting to be a Singer or
Musician. There are four different categories that define the different ways that a Singer or
Musician can follow, the first category fallows those who want to be a Singer or Musician but
never really go anywhere and then there is the second category is for those who are a
Singer/Musician and what to teach others in school or college which requires that you major is
music and get your diploma in music. The third category is for those who sing or play an
instrument but only do it at home or a isolated place, like for a hobby. The fourth and final
category is for those who want to be a legend and accomplish the impossible, which takes
dedication and hard work. This fourth category is the one I fall in as I want to make music but
also become something from it. To become someone that many people can look up to and
Training
So the amount of training needed really varies from what type of musical path you want
to follow, if you do it for a hobby then there is no training really required unless you dont know
how to play the instrument that you have in mind. if you want to teach others about music then
you will need to go to college and train in the many different types of music to get a degree
below a master's, unless if you want to teach music at a college level. Very little training is
needed if you want to just sing or play an instrument at a local bar or concert, if you decide to go
the famous raught then training is not really required either as you will need to learn new things
and expand your music but that is really just hard work, unless you dont know how to play an
instrument.

Qualifications
So for those of you who want to achieve the impossible and become famous, you really
dont need to work for a qualification as long as you can sing or play the instrument that you
want to play. For a teacher level of music then you will need to graduate high school and obtain
at least a bachelor's degree or lower and graduate from college, then pass the teacher test and
start applying for whatever schools you want, it's best to do internships and shadow other music
teachers to increase your chances of getting the job.other then that there really is no
qualifications for other musicians like if you do it for a hobby or just want to play at a local bar.
Job outlook
The job outlook for Singers and Musicians is pretty low to begin with, the state you live
in also has a effect on the job outlook like how missouris employment count is only 1,036 and
the employment rate is 2.3% with only 33 openings for Singers. Try to become a Singer in a
different state like california or detroit, or at least apply in one of those two states to have a better
chance of getting a job. Singers mostly tend to spend more time unemployed but that does not
mean that they have no job, it just means that they have no Singing job.
Earnings
So the amount a Singer earns varies from state to state and by what category they are in,
the average Singer in Missouri makes from $15 an hour to $25 an hour. The top seventy-five
percent make around $37.79 an hour. Now in terms of famous Singers they tend to make a lot
more than what other Singers make, now even they make less than how much their album costs
as they have to pay their managers and the record label for accepting them plus the cost of those
who helped with the computer work. But they make more than enough on world tours, it varies
on how popular you are like how Drake makes over 1 million or 1 billion annually and that's not
4
counting yearly, hourly or monthly. As a music teacher you will make at the start $33,450 a year
and this also depends on how much experience you have, the location and the school you work
for.

Justification
So I took two career tests to see what category I would fall under in terms of
also took the interest inventory and ended up with arts being my top category with my second
category being helping animals, but that was really small. Now when I took my sixteen
personalities test I was identified as a mediator, a mediator is a personally that anyone can have
that influences them to be a peacemaker. A mediator is someone who listens to both sides and
calms both people who are in the argument and helps solve conflict, mediator are people who
find the good in anything and they jump at the chance to help others. Mediators are creative in
their own writing as they want to communicate with everyone and they become so passionate
about wanting to communicate to others that they end up applying this in their work and this just
adds to their creativeness, which is why many mediators tend to work in the arts category.
Mediators dont look for rewards and feel that helping others is the best reward that they can get.
Mediators want to understand themselves and find their place in the world so they find these by
projecting themselves into their work which attracts others to read or observe their work.
