Matthew 22-- 34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they

were gathered
together. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked Him a question , tempting Him, and saying, 36 “Master,
which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus said unto him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all
your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the
second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law
and the prophets.”

Consecration of Jonathan Edwards

(Good Daily Challenge)
“I claim no right to myself-- no right to this understanding, this will, these affections that are in me. Neither do
I have any right to this body or its members-- no right to this tongue, to these hands, feet, ears, or eyes. I have
given myself clear away and not retained anything of my own. I have been to God this morning and told Him that I
have given myself wholly to Him. I have given every power, so that for the future I claim no right to myself in any
respect. I have expressively promised Him, for by His grace I will not fail.
“I take Him as my whole portion and felicity [great happiness], the joys of Heaven, prosperity; looking upon
nothing else as any part of my happiness. His Law is the constant rule of my obedience. I will fight with all my
might against the world, the flesh, and the devil to the end of my life. I will adhere [stick] to the faith of the
Gospel, however hazardous [or dangerous] and difficult the profession and practice of it may be. I receive the
blessed Holy Spirit as my Teacher, Sanctifier, and the only Comforter, and cherish all monitions [cautions or
warnings] to enlighten, purify, confirm, comfort, and assist me. This I have done.
“I pray God, for the sake of others, to look upon me as a self dedication and receive me as His own.
Henceforth I am not to act in any respect as my own. I shall act as my own if I ever make use of any of my powers
to do anything that is not to the glory of God, or to fail to make the glorifying of Him my whole and entire
business. If I murmur in the least at afflictions, if I am in any way uncharitable, if I revenge my own case, if I do
anything purely to please myself or omit anything because it is a great denial, if I trust to myself if I take any praise
for any good which Christ does by me, or if I am in any way proud, I shall act as my own and not God's.
Therefore, I purpose to be absolutely His.” [Emphases and definitions purposely added.]

What are your two top priorities everyday? Are you like me and you put many things ahead of
communicating with God and studying His Word? If you had an opportunity to meet with your lifetime
hero or heroine, would you tell him or her that you couldn’t do so because of having to do other things? But
God does not force you to communicate with Him or force you to study the Bible. He wants you to do both
because you love Him so much and are so thankful for the Salvation He has given you because of your belief
in the Gospel. Now, look at Matthew 6:33, Romans Current

Christian Warfare Is
casting out all worldly thoughts
eliminating pride
not giving into worldly temptations
curtailing selfishness
choosing to and living morally righteous
praying for healing oneself and others
heeding to Holy Spirit guidance
doing intercessory prayer
teaching God's wisdom and commandments
exhorting and rebuking “believers of Christianity”
witnessing (orally or in writing) whenever the Holy Spirit urges
making oneself available in secular places to help spiritually hungry individuals
being wrongly gossiped and slandered about
facing prejudice and indifference even in churches
being forsaken by friends and relatives because of righteous living and Christians consecration
loosing jobs and ministries unjustly
possibly being beaten up, tortured, forced into a mental institution, imprisoned, or killed
because of beliefs in Christ

Now look at the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 in relation to the above and also chronologically for every belief and
conviction you have. You will be blessed in so doing.

Man's # 1 Sickness - Hatred

(by Bill Stevenson sometime in the 1970s)
Why is there so much hatred in the world? Does God condone hatred? These two questions, I am sure, have
stimulated much thought. Hatred has caused me a lot of grief especially when I realize it is based on selfishness
and assumption of truth. The arguing, the misunderstanding, and/or the fighting which branch out from hatred
seems so childish or immature. The original sin of Adam and Eve was not hatred, but directly involved was
selfishness and assumption of truth. And later on, Cain hated Abel due to selfishness and assumption of truth.
Also, the Old Testament and the secular accounts of history are full of crime, unethical business, and wars based on
selfishness and assumption of truth. But where hatred grieves me the most is in and between families and churches,
usually over minor issues. Now it is easy to point to the Bible prophecies about people' s behavior and say, “oh we
are just in the Last Days”. It is also easy to say “we should hate what God hates and forget about those doomed
sinners.” But many of us are very sensitive and concerned, especially in regards to our families and former friends.
We need fundamental, Bible-believing friends, families, and/or churches to encourage and stand with us in relation
to Luke 6:22-23, Matthew 5:43-48, and John 15:10-27. Please take time to read those passages of God's Word.
Then become ready to constantly and sincerely encourage true Christian believers because everyone of them is
being hated in some way. The only cure or solution to hatred is God's love. Be a promoter of God’s compassion
and wisdom in this world full of hatred.

How can you help yourself in this world full of spiritual warfare (especially hatred)?
1. By living Proverbs 3:5-6 more and more, as you desire Holy Spirit guidance for you becoming more
Christ-like via confession and repentance.
2. Included with the above is talking (inwardly and outwardly) with Abba Father more and more.
3. Being more and more compassionate for others by being less selfish and expecting.
4. Studying God’s Word more. Don’t just share my Bible study tools, but take time and be blessed by
them personally. Have similar personal revival as I did when developing them. I even was blessed
whenever I reformatted them.
5. Desire to be enthusiastic all of the time for the Great Commission, at least via intercessory prayer for
such happening more. We will be for many the only Bible they will read.

How can we help each other in this world full of spiritual warfare (especially hatred)?
1. By doing frequent intercessory prayer for each other.
2. By briefly checking with others in our special group via Instant Messenger or/and e-mail, at least once
a month, preferably once a week.
3. Please send me appropriate information about all of the above, especially your personal needs and
concerns. Tell me if you want it shared with all who are involved in this ministry, or just the very
consecrated leaders, or just for me to pray about.

Prayer needs that I know about :

Roland and Tamara of Holland:
1. They are helping to start a church in Leeuwarden. Tamara will lead worship for 3 pastors from the
Netherlands this Saturday. Probably 80 people will be there.
2. Tamara wants prayer for her preparation for the Army physical test. She signed up for nursing in a
12 year commitment.
3: Roland wants prayer for his attempt to quit smoking again and for his spiritual learning in
preparation for future ministry.
Lisa of South Africa would like prayer for her and her four children, for a special friend of hers, for wisdom
on where to move to (probably twice soon), for her health (especially for a bad back
needing surgery), for her adapting to her new work assignments with government
services web pages, and for her website development ministry for people like me.
Pastor Justine of Zambia needs prayer for his wife’s health and prayer for him, the 2 churches he leads,
replacement money for the money that was stolen when his house was robbed
which was for a ministry trip to Nigeria, and money for moving to a safer
neighborhood.
Buta needs prayer for the arrangements for him to move to New York to be with his wife.
General request: For all of us to be blessed with unexpected financial blessings so that we can do our
ministries better.
