MOP for troubleshooting

1-Define impacted sites

2-Define the uplink of the impacted sites which is the first impacted site from BSC/Route/SW side.

Ex. MAR202 with XX sites down

Link to be checked
so need to check uplink MAR201-
MAR202

3-Start checking the link in terms of:-

MW link check
Check RSL if its degraded confirm if there is bad weather, tower or antenna
issue if not, escalate it to FM to align the link
Check if RSL not degraded but link have BER, escalate it to BO (share photos for
ALMs, RSL and Config.)
IF RSL and MW link have no issue, check service ports.
Service ports check
Service port alarmed with ETH_LOS, need to check RJ45 cable/LAN or fiber cable
If service port visual no ALMs but event log shows LAN link ALM(NEC) need to
check:
o ETH port speed mode between both ends (TX-TX or TX-BTS or TX-SW) is
it same (Fix100-Fix100 or Auto-Auto).
o For TX-BTS Meditel/OT network standard is Fix 100-Fix 100(as agreed
with wireless team).
o For TX-SW Meditel/OT network standard is Auto-Auto (as agreed with
Datacom team).
o MTU should be on MAX 2000 for FE &9600 for GE.
o If speed mode, MTU are ok, so replace LAN or fiber cable.
o If LAN link ALM not cleared reset LAN device or IDU if needed.
o If LAN link ALM still persist, escalate to BO.

4-For ALM manual and MOP of troubleshooting for each ALM (NEC product as attached) and for Huawei
its clear on U2000 guide just click on ALM and see its details.

5-If MW link no ALMs service ports OK as well as MAC addresses available on ports (Huawei product)
escalate directly to BO/Datacom&wireless.

L1 ALMs direct escalation to FME

RX level ALM FM to align link

ETH_LOS FM to check connectivity
ODU cable open FM to check IF connectors and IDU/ODU connectivity
FAN ALM FM to replace faulty FAN
Power supply FM to check the power cable
