The Department of Community

Development at UNTL will be a
Centre of excellence in the field
of community-based
approaches to socio-economic
development in Timor-Leste.
It has a prime objective of bringing
together social science theory with
appropriate practice in social
transformation.
In particular it will promote theories
and practice associated with
participatory methodologies and a
sustainable livelihoods approach to
development.
