Philosophy of Education

This is my personal philosophy of education. On this paper, I include all my personal beliefs about teaching,

learning, students, knowledge, the importance of being bilingual and about what is worth knowing, in other words,

my beliefs about education. Education is one of the most important careers in life because it prepares students for a

better future.

Being a teacher is not as easy as it looks, it does not consist of just working because you have a career. Being a

teacher takes a special place in life teaching. Teaching is the key to success in your own life and in the students

lives. Teaching will make students learn what they need in order to be successful. Every teacher should care about

her or his students. Communication makes a better environment between teacher and student. Every teacher should

get to know her students history and get the parents involve during the whole school year. Teaching for me is what

I believe the key to a successful future.

To learn you should be motivated and inspired because it is what gets you to achieve all your goal. Every

kid/student regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, and capabilities should have the opportunity to learn. Every

teacher should have all her students attention, but how can this be possible? Students show interest in the class if

the teacher has a great environment inside the classroom, is a respectful teacher, makes the lessons fun and gets to

know all her students. If a teacher does not show any signs of what I mentioned above, of course, the results are not

going to be positive and instead she is going to have disrespectful students and students not showing interest who are

not willing to learn.

Special education is a very important topic in schools. There are so many kids with so disabilities but they can be

even smarter than a regular kid with no disabilities. They also have the right to learn and study in a public/private

school. They have their own classrooms with students with the same disabilities as them. Special education teachers

are trained and educated to teach these kids the right way. Having them in separate groups and several teachers does

make a difference in their learning lives, as it helps them develop more knowledge. Special needs process involves

the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and

materials, accessible settings, and other interventions designed to help them achieve a higher level of personal self-

sufficiency and success in school and community that would be available if the student were only given access to a

typical classroom education. But it is also important that they go to regular classrooms with students with no

disabilities so that they will not feel less.

Bilingual education is one of the most important education around the world. Being bilingual is like counting as two

persons because you are speaking two languages. Bilingual education prepares students for a better tomorrow.

Students acquire a new language but they also maintain and conserve their main language.

When I become a teacher, I want to follow a plan every day. I want to become an amazing teacher. I am willing to

give it my everything and put all my knowledge to prepare my kids for a better future. The success of your school

year will depend very much on how well you prepared, how you create a learning environment, how you create a

seating chart, even what you put on the walls. I cant wait to start teaching.

When talking about the importance of education, Udom (2014) referred to Jean-Jacques Rousseaus famous

educational quote that: Plants are shaped by cultivation and men by education... We are born weak, we need

strength; we are born totally unprovided, we need aid; we are born stupid, we need judgment and everything we do

not have at our birth and which we need when we are grown is given us by education (P. ix).

This educational quote encourages students to learn, do extensive research for them to gain skills and ideas that can

enable them to have the capacity to make wise judgments. Human beings are born not capable of many things, and it

is only education that can make them intelligent and influential in the ever demanding society.
