KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Complies with Al Taweelah Alumina Project Site Work Rules at all times.
- Excellent communication and problem solving ability
- Provide technical assistance to the piping superintendents and crafts.
- Implementation of the project ES&H program and quality control program.
- Inspection of field installations and completion of associated documentation on a continuing basis, and complete the
final P&ID checks prior to turnover.
- Responsible for verifying and reporting all piping quantities.
- Prepare field change documentation, RFIs-NCRs and as-built documentation as required.
- Interpret design drawings and interface with engineering office to resolve design and constructability issues.
- Assist and/or develop pressure test packages and responsible for witnessing and verifying and acceptance.
- Prepare material requisitions and follow up with procurement for the deliveries.
- Work with Procurement's expediting team to ensure the delivery of vendor materials to support the project schedule.
- Work within TEAMWorks to verify accurate data from engineering and suppliers.
- Ensure that materials are stored properly to ensure environmental protection.
- Complete material receipt inspections as required.
- Assist with preparation of construction estimates.

REQUIREMENTS:

- University/B. S degree in Mechanical Engineering is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience
can be demonstrated.
- In depth piping field engineering experience.
- Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is
preferred.
- Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including InfoWorks, TEAMWorks, BPS, PTR, and other
automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset.
- Conversant with SPR (3D model Review);
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards is required.
- Excellent (English) written, data and oral skills.
- Ability to engage with staff from all levels.
- Ability to prioritize work and perform well under pressure.
- Exercise independent judgment and decision-making, whilst seeking guidance when appropriate.

Assisting Hook Up Manager for all the piping and structural related matters.
Responsible for the piping and structural part of hook up, both during preparation and execution phases for offshore
projects in the East Coast Saudi Arabia within Saudi Aramco concession area.
During the preparation stage, responsible for the interface with the piping and structural discipline engineers from
detailed design dept, within project/consortium/ECS organization, related vendors and Client in order to ensure that
the preparation is meticulously and comprehensively carried out, meeting all Company requirements.
Lead piping and structural hook up engineering process.
Review piping and structural technical documents before submission to client and to ensure that they meet the client
requirements.
Define the consumables, tools, materials or services to be purchased / subcontracted for offshore execution in
conjunction with Hook Up Manager.
Comment and approve all the technical design necessary for the purchase and/or construction of offshore works aids.
Participate to meetings to examine and, if necessary, audit the technical design, and take part in technical
examinations with the Client. Advise Hook Up Manager on cost and scheduling imparting issues.
Notify the Project Engineer and Hook Up Manager of any problems occurring with piping and structural engineering
areas.
Considering the nature of lump sum hook up and brownfield works and relevant challenges, having as target the
contribution for his discipline for optimization of offshore duration and costs:
1. Be responsible to ensure a safe and effective hook methodology is put in place for his discipline.
2. Ensure that the project procedures for his disciplines are adequate for the operations and have been prepared and approved on time.
3. Ensure that critical RFQ and PO, for his disciplines, are issue and finalized on time.
4. Ensure that related offshore team and project equipment are ready for the mobilization on time and of adequate characteristics.
During offshore campaign, with the aim of minimizing offshore vessels, personnel deployment and therefore Project
costs, to ensure that offshore works, related to his disciplines, are effectively performed as per planned working
sequence.
Assist Hook Up Manager in discussing with Client before offshore campaigns start about preparation as well and daily
and weekly reporting during offshore works
Ensure that the operation people on board of the vessels receive all necessary data in form of reports, manuals, and
drawings for his disciplines.
Follow up activities offshore or in any construction place identified by the project.
Assist Hook Up Manager in providing feedback to Project and Corporate on the execution lesson learnt

Requirements:

Bachelor degree in Engineering


7 years in O&G industry, minimum 3 years as piping / structural engineer preferably with Aramco, having of both hook
up preparation and execution
having offshore experience, experience in engineering interface and hook up construction
Strong leadership, independent, problem solving, lump sum oriented and able to make decision considering risk,
schedule and cost
The incumbent will be stationed in the Middle East and will require frequent travels to other regions.

Have an understanding of the project scope of work, budget, and schedule, particularly as it applies to Piping
Engineering and Design. Manage scope changes, both additions and deletions.
* Perform and/or oversee all Piping Stress Analysis, assuring compliance with all applicable codes pertaining to
piping systems and strain sensitive equipment.
* Oversee the work of other Piping Engineering personnel. Provide direction and guidance to the Piping
Engineering Team
* Prepare man hour estimates for all Piping Engineering activities.
* Schedule, track and forecast Piping Engineering activities.
* Manage man-hour expenditures for Piping Engineering.
* Produce required project reporting for Piping Engineering.
* Ensure coordination with other in-house engineering departments.
* Develop and maintain list of lines to be stress analyzed.
* Develop and maintain valve list, spring support list, piping special items listing, etc..
* Perform wall thickness and branch reinforcing calculations.
* Prepare requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and supplier document review for all Piping materials and
valves.
* Perform thorough review of relevant vendor documentation information for not only the Piping group, but
review of all other Disciplines' relevant Vendor Data.
* Provide a timely internal check of drawings produced by other MHDP disciplines.
* Incorporate MHDP procedures and standards into design as applicable.
* Responsible for safe, technically accurate, and cost effective piping system designs and deliverables for
offshore installations and facilities.
* Responsible for compliance with applicable specifications and standards, and completion of work within
project budget and schedule.
* For larger projects, this is typically accomplished by a combination of supervising and directing a Piping
Engineering Team and also directly performing tasks as required. These tasks may include Piping Stress *
Analysis, support design, special support design, spring support design, and design of expansion joints.

* The Piping LE must have experience in the oil / gas, hydrocarbon offshore industry and be recognized as a
specialist in a specific engineering field on large to mega offshore projects.
* The Piping LE must coordinate both his Engineering and Design teams and be familiar with the workings of
the 3D CAD model software being used on the project.
* The Piping LE is the final arbiter in space management of the 3D CAD model.
* Coordinate with other project Disciplines and Lead Engineers to ensure correct implementation of the design.
* Prepare and review engineering studies, design drawings and documents, material and equipment
specifications and datasheets.
* Resolve specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
* Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods,
design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
* Be competent in producing man-hour estimates for new work and change-orders together with Piping
scheduling in conjunction with the project Planner.
