AGRICULTURE / FFA EDUCATION

CLASS EXPECTATIONS
1. Raise your hand before talking.
2. One person talking at a time
3. NO interruptions during class instruction (including tardys).
4. NO students in the office or storage cabinets without permission.
5. Take care of our classroom furniture, computers and shop equipment.
6. Shutdown your computer and clean up after working.
7. No student on the teachers computer.
8. No sandals in any Ag-Ed classes, this is a safety issue.

DETENTION
1. Detention must be served within 48 hours (two school days) of being assigned or having your
name circled on the board.
2. Arrangements must be made with the teacher to serve the detention; detention will be in the Ag-
Ed shop unless noted otherwise.
3. Failure to do detention on time will result in doubling of the detention. The student will be expelled
from the class until detention is completed.

Tardy
You will receive a noon detention from the teacher on your 3rd tardy to class and for every tardy
thereafter. (per semester)

100-90 A
89-80 B
79-70 C
69-65 D
64---- F

Three ring notebooks are required for all classes. They will be graded at least once each quarter.
Notebooks must include: grade sheet, and class information sheet, paper, notes, handouts, tests, and
homework.

Classroom grading will be based upon:


1. Tests
2. Quizzes
3. Homework and class assignments.
4. Class participation. Shop and lab grading will be based upon: assignments, class participation
(including field trips) clean up, safety, finished projects. All shop projects must have an approved set of
plans, bill of materials and a plan of procedure before work can begin.

MISSED ASSIGNMENTS
Credit will be given only for excused absences and school related absences which are made up. No
written work can be made up after the assignment has been passed back. Missed daily grades can be
made up after school and on open shop nights not during study hall, make arrangements with the
instructor. Also a lab make up sheet must be filled out.

SAFETY
Safety is a very important part of the program. All safety tests will be passed with a 100% to operate the
equipment. All students will have a signed safety policy letter to work in the lab area and all safety
infractions will be dealt with according to the vocational education safety policy. No sandals!!

3 violations and you are out! First strike is a warning. Second strike is a day in the classroom reflecting on
your mistake. Third strike, you are kicked out of the class and will receive a F in the class. Absolutely no
horseplay in the shop area. Violations are as listed but not limited to; horseplay, no safety glasses, rough
housing, picking on another student, misuse of tools, throwing objects across the shop, bad temper, etc.

EXTRA CREDIT POINTS


Extra credit will be added on to your grade if you have participated in extra activities. If you have put in
effort to improve your education and leadership it will be recognized and rewarded with Leadership
Development Points.

Ad-Ed/ FFA/ SAE


Ag Education is a three-part educational program.
1. Class / Lab
2. FFA leadership development
3. SAE (supervised agricultural experience) work experience. All classes will use the AET software.
All three parts will be included in class assignments and grading.

FFA is an integral part of agriculture education and membership is provided by the state of Montana for
all PCHS Ag-Ed students. Monthly meetings are (most often) on the first Tuesday of each month and
7:30 pm in the Ag room. Members are eligible from the 7th grade to 3 years post High School.

Students take this information sheet home and go over with your parents.
