Presentation Madness
Instructions for Mid-term

You are going to give a presentation about a chosen topic. You should decide on a topic and inform your teacher by Tuesday 5th September.

You are expected to include the following:

You must talk for 5 minutes and respond to questions for around 2 minutes
You must demonstrate your ability to use all of the following structures (covered in class till now) in context:
o Reported Speech
o Clauses of Contrast and Purpose
o The Past Perfect
o First and Second Conditionals
o Time Clauses
o Verb + Infinitive / -ing
o Verb + Object + Infinitive
o Vocabulary (a selection of the following: too / enough, phrasal verbs, -ed / -ing adjectives, Unless / as long as / provided that). The
vocab you choose to use will depend on your chosen topic but all the grammar structures must be attempted in context.
You will be marked not only on the presentation itself, but also on your ability to ask and respond to questions.
You will need to use visual aids but cannot include full sentences or long paragraphs of text in your PowerPoint.
You cant read from a script or from the PowerPoint.
Think about your tone of voice, posture, eye contact, engagement with the audience etc. when preparing your presentation.
