A. ACTIVITY
Finding Connections: Review of the reading selection
a. Ask students to complete the table comparing and contrasting the three texts.
b. Pair up the students.
c. Have them evaluate the content/theme of the texts by answering the given questions.
d. Remind the class to observe the effective oral language conventions in expressing their ideas and
reactions/opinions.

B. ANALYSIS
Guide the students in analyzing the sentences with idiomatic expressions.
- What do you mean by the underlined expression in each sentence?
- Do you know what an idiomatic expression is?
- Can you tell me the advantages and disadvantages of using it in simple conversation?

C. ABSTRACTION
Draw out from the students the meanings of expressions and how these can help in effective
communication with others.
Review with the class what a comic strip is.
D. APPLICATION
In triad, complete the comic strips by supplying the speaking lines with the following idiomatic
expressions. Be creative. Give your strip an appropriate title.
