Aemons language.

Today Aemon I noticed you playing with the dollys. You picked up this one and
while the other children were having a snack you tried to feed your baby. Mouth,
eyes, ears you said as you pointed to the babys face. You were thinking and
communicating your thoughts to me and the dolly. When you were smaller Aemon
I used to play a game with you pointing to your mouth I would say mouth and you
would mimic back to me, today I believe you were applying past knowledge to the
situation with the dolly, only this time you were the adult. Your language skills
are developing rather rapidly and Im sure you will be speaking fluently very soon.

Communication / Mana Reo: Children experience an environment where

they develop verbal skills for a range of purposes.

What Next: One of the major tasks for children in the early years is to
develop competence in and understanding language. At this time they are learning
to communicate their experience in different ways; they are also learning the
ways to interpret the ways in which others communicate.

We will continue to encourage and support you as you talk with your teachers and
your peers. We will give you opportunities to have sustained conversations, having
fun with words and practising sounds. This will increase your vocabulary and
before you know it you will be a little chatterbox.
