Type of the lesson: fixation of knowledge and of developing skills and abilities
Lesson aims:
- to develop Ss's speaking and listening competences;
- to develop Ss' ability to use language in real life situations;
- to revise and reinforce vocabulary concerning parts of a room, furniture, objects and
materials;
-to encourage speaking and comprehension skills.

Objectives: By the end of the lesson the Ss will be able to:


- use correctly the practiced vocabulary;
- use the words and phrases in real life circumstances;
- create their own situations and deal with new circumstances in a conversation;

Materials: textbook, worksheets, pictures, video presentation, cards

Stages of the lesson

ACTIVITY 1 (warm-up)
Aims:
to create a proper atmosphere for learning;
to make Ss aware of the items they will learn;
introduce vocabulary connected to parts of the house and furniture;
to practice vocabulary related to the topic

PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING


Teacher creates the specific atmosphere, asking about
absents and how the weather is like. Chatting in English at T-Ss 10 min
the beginning of the lesson, T creates an English Ss-Ss
language atmosphere, establishing contact between her
Ss-Ts
and Ss, and helps Ss to feel relax.
Ss are introduced to the topic of the new lesson. T writes
the title of the lesson on the blackboard.
(The objectives of the lesson will be presented at the
beginning of the lesson.)
T presents the Ss the parts of a house using Power Point
slides.
T shows the Ss pictures with rooms of a house and tells
the Ss:
This is a living room.
T asks the Ss questions about the picture:
What is this?
T practises the new items of language orally in drills.

ACTIVITY 2
Aims:
to check pronunciation and understanding
to check previously taught vocabulary
to check understanding of the new vocabulary and knowledge

T shows pictures with different rooms and asks the Ss
questions about the pictures. T-Ss 10 min

T asks the Ss about the objects in a certain room:

T asks the Ss to open their books and look at exercise 1 on
page 14. T reads the first example. T explains the Ss to do
the same with the other parts of the house and to match the
numbers with the proper picture.
T draws a mind map and writes the parts of a house on the
blackboard: living room, dining room, kitchen, study room,
bedroom, bathroom, attic, garage.

ACTIVITY 3 (speaking, writing)


Aims:
to use English while playing

T tells the Ss they are going to play the mime. One S has to
come in front of the classroom, choose a card from the
teachers desk and mime the action so that the other Ss can
guess it.
