1.0 GENERAL
This procedure is to provide guidance in the construction of underground natural gas pipeline by
pipe jacking method for Natural Gas Distribution Pipeline Project
The Codes and Standards list as below are purposed for the minimum reference of Engineering
Design.
2.0 SCOPE
This procedure is used for 10 inch and 21 m length pipe jacking guideline of underground natural gas pipeline
project whereas the requirement of specification shall be practiced as specified in the contract drawings.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 Project Manager
Manage all project construction activities by directing Project Coordinator and Site
Representative.
3.2 Engineering Manager
Establishment of all document related to construction procedure and material specification.
3.3 Site Representative
Responsible for provision of manpower, construction equipment and construction material
required for construction.
3.4 Site Engineer
Execute all construction activities and verify that the material and other accessories are in
accordance with the specification.
3.5 Quality Controller
To verify that the work is completed in accordance with specification and application codes and
standard.
3.6 Safety Officer
Responsible for all construction Safety Program.
4.0 SITE PREPARATION
Before job operation, need to have appropriately safety management such as restriction boundary, warning
sign and safety equipment.
Pit construction at driving shaft side and reception side should have approved calculation and met regulation
requirement.
Handling and storing pipe area should not obstruct transportation way. When blocks should not exceed 1.5
M. in height, and should not be walked or climbed upon.
The route of pipeline shall be surveyed and shown detail of line route, station, crossing section with the
elevation of existing ground and proposing pipeline soil coverage to control for ditching operation.
Reference shall be set up to control survey point and should be marked for convenience of reference during
construction.
