How the product demonstrates the connection between your selected topics and the
goals/essential understandings of this unit:
Our fiction will explain how life was like during the American Revolution, from the perspectives
of the important people chosen, as well as the ideologies behind them. This project will help
us learn more about how the middle ages developed into the modern world we live in today,
by looking at how different ideas were created and affected people in that age. Also, to
evaluate important peoples opinions and what they did to the society.

ESLOs:
(What ESLOs does your project relate to and how?)
- Strategic Learners: As this is a self-directed project, we need to think of questions and
research on our own in order to collect the information needed. We also need to plan
well on our work management to complete the project in time.
- Articulate Communicators: Our fiction is based on real events which happened in the
past. We have to express these information in a simple way which is also fun to read.
- Altruistic Global Citizens: We learn to be good citizens by studying how people in the
past maintain a peaceful or chaotic society.
- Leaders for the Future: We study about how important people during the American
Revolution impacted society. So, within our group, we can evaluate how their
decisions was wise or not and apply them to our lives.

VARK Learning Strategies:

(What is your individual VARK learning style and how do you plan to do your research based on
the style?)
Jane: Vark is a learning strategies that use to find and helps our learning by using the
strategies we should be using. Ive done a question on a website and as a result I find that my
best learning ways are Aural and Visual which is good for learning in a way of discussion, talk
in a group and looking at different formats. Due to these result, I plan to do my research by
share ideas in a group, exchange each person opinion and try to help each other out. Ill
looking for a mind map or a diagram that can explain more about this topic and at the end Ill
did a research on what Ive found.

Mind: I have a multimodal learning preference, VARK, my score is Visual 4 Aural 3

Read/Write 5 Kinesthetic 4. However, according to each score, my best learning style is
reading or writing. So I plan about my researching process that, first, Ill try to find as much
important information as possible, from different kinds of sources: websites, journals and
books. Then, as Im reading the article or content, Ill write some short notes for reminding
myself the main points, and for sharing and explaining it to groupmates in order to get the
right and further understanding on the topic. Lastly, after my group and I applied our learning
strategies and achieved the efficient research process, we will all gather what weve got, and
create our masterpiece, our product.

Minnie: I have a multimodal learning style, with higher score in visual and auditory strategies.
For the research part, I would gather information by watching videos on explanations of the

topics and try to find infographics or timelines of the events during the American Revolution. I
would make a summary of the informations by drawing a mind map. I might discuss the
questions about the topic with my group to further understand and to be able to feel like being
a person in that period of time, which will be helpful for writing this fiction.

Genie: I have done several questions on website to test my skills and my best skill is my read
and writing skills. This skill is serve for the reading articles and try to understand it clearly. I
plan to research the topic in many websites or different sources of information related to my
topic and read the articles and rewrite it to make it easier for reader to understand. While
reading, I will try to summarize the article and find the key point of it.
