 INTRODUCTION TO SGinformatica

SGinformatica is the web solution that provides the all over details of the CSE department of the Shree
Ganesh group of institutions, Rakhra. In this solution we provide online facilities to the students of the CSE
department. Any kind of work that could be possible online will be done on this web solution.

In this we provide the all the details related to Academic like Course Schedule, Course Catalog,
Graduate and Undergraduate related Programs. In this project it also exposes the area of
researches. It shows the staff details of the CSE department. All the event and the interview
conducted will be represented in this web solution.

In the student corner, student can view their syllabus according to their semester. It can upload
and download the project and articles that are either posted by the students and members.

In other words, we can say that it can be the part of any university, in which the university set
their details according to the courses offered by the university.
STATEMENT ABOUT THE PROBLEM

As we see already there is number of university that is registered on internet, and provide the
feature that are will be provided by us, but as we know, Nothing is perfect and static in this
world. I took the example of the site named http://www.cs.princeton.edu . In this site panel we
get the details of student basic queries, but there is no such a panel where student can post their
queries and revert back. And on the other side there is a site called
http://www.faadooengineers.com/content. In this site student uploads and download the projects
and post the updates related to the technologies.

But the web solution named SGinformatica provide both the features of the above sites. We
can view the all update related to the CSE department as well as download the projects related to
the department. It can also take test to judge own self.
OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT

In this project, there is a registration process for each of the user connected to this site anyhow. The
Administrator of the site verifies the User after his registration and if satisfied, assigns him an ID and
password.

Once the Users have registered themselves, they can post the Queries and problems they wish to get
solved. Different registered users can then view these problems and post their solutions in response.
The solution seeker may then choose among the number of solutions provided by the other users of the
site.

There is also a provision of online test in the site in which member will select the category and
after this random selected questions will be given to him Result will be saved in database and
member can view graphical results for better analysis of all tests in which they appeared
Interview questions are also available (Subject wise) on the site. Answers can be seen and hide by
clicking on the question.

The concept of Master Pages and Content Pages is used.

Web User Controls are used to enhance Reusability.
Role Based Security is used secure the application
Data Bound Control for viewing fetched data.
Stored Procedures are used for excellence performance.
BENEFITS OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM

The benefits of the proposed system must also be evaluated. Benefits may be categorized as
tangible or intangible.
Tangible benefits which are measured in money terms consist of the saving of
Time.
Certain operating costs.

Intangible benefits are more difficult to estimate and justify. They are often impossible to give a
money value to.

 OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

Controlling redundancy in storing the same data multiple times.

Enhancement in the completion of work within the constraints of time.

The scope of the system is quite wide. It can be implemented on a WAP-enabled mobile handset, thus
providing the Clients and the Providers, the ease of accessing the Solutions and their status without any
difficulty and within no time.

The.NET Overview

Microsoft announced .net in 2000 in Florida. Microsoft .net platform consists of five main components :-

1) Operating System
2) .NET Enterprise Server
3) .NET Framework
4) .NET Building Block Services
5) Visual Studio .NET

Operating System : -At the lowest layer lies the operating system (OS), which can be one of a variety of
Windows platforms, including Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, etc.
.NET Enterprise Server :-

On top of the operating system is a series of .NET Enterprise Server

products that shortens the time required to develop large-scale business systems. These server products
include :

Commerce Server (Merchant server with shopping card and credit card
capabilities)
BizTalk Server (An integration server based on XML and enables companies to integrate
and manage business processes by exchanging business documents such as purchase
orders)
SQL Server (Microsofts Database Management System)

.NET Framework : -

The .NET Framework is a new development and runtime infrastructure that will
change the development of business applications on the Windows platform. It includes the Common
Language Runtime (CLR) and a common framework of classes that can be used by all .NET languages.

.NET Building Block Services : -

Web Services are highly reusable across the Web, Microsoft provides
a number of building-block services that applications developers can use. An example of building-block
service is Microsoft Passport, which allows you to use a single username and password at all web sites
that support Passport authentication.

Visual Studio .NET :-

At the top layer of the .NET architecture is a new development tool called
Visual Studio.NET (VS.NET), which makes possible the rapid development of Web Services and other
applications. A successor of Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, VS.NET is an Integrated Development
Environment (IDE) that supports four different languages and features such as cross-language debugging
and the XML Schema Editor.

The .NET Framework is

1. A component model for the internet

 2. The new approach to building large scale distributed systems for the Internet
3. Provides the capability to integrate multiple devices
4. Built around the tools and protocols (XML, WSDL, SOAP, HTTP) that are becoming standard
on the Internet.

The .NET in ASP.NET stands for the .NET Framework, a set of objects and blueprints from
Microsoft for building applications. All applications developed under the .NET Framework;
including ASP.NET applications, have certain key features that ensure compatibility, security,
and stability.

Is a platform for multiple language development of:

Windows applications

Web applications

Windows/Web services

Libraries

Pocket PC application

Common Language Runtime (CLR)

CLR as the heart and soul of the .NET architecture. If you are a Java programmer, then think of
the CLR is equivalent of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). The CLR activates objects, performs
security checks on them, lays them out in memory, executes them, and garbage-collects them.

Conceptually, the CLR and the JVM are similar, that is both runtime infrastructures. CLR works
like a virtual machine in executing all languages.

All .NET languages must obey the rules and standards imposed by CLR. Examples:
